I have BOS and looking to get Battle of Kuban! How does it compare to BOS?

Better and more interesting map.

 

At least as interesting a plane set. 

 

Slightly longer career. 

 

More informative cutscenes.

 

More ship targets.

 

But: If you look in the other direction, BoM has the plane that outweighs anything BoK has to offer: The MiG-3.

Battle of Kuban is worth it for the map alone. It's beautifully detailed and the most geographically diverse map in the series so far.

 

The aircraft set too brings some interesting types to the table. The latest Bf109 and FW190 types appeal to many although they aren't the "most interesting" as that would fall to other types like the P-39L-1, A-20B, and Hs129B-2. There's also the Spitfire Vb which was the first Spitfire to appear in the third gen of the IL-2 series.

 

It's quite good and a natural follow on to Stalingrad. I wouldn't downplay Battle of Moscow either... the content there is just as interesting although the map is a little more uniform than Kuban - still it has its share of landmarks too.

For the navigationally challenged, Kuban has a coast as reference and mountains the other way. Useful feature.

The most beautiful map/landscape alone is definitely worth it! 
If you sometimes find orientation hard in flight - here you have such landmarks that you cannot go wrong.
The Black Sea, huge lakes, the Crimean pininsula - Kuban is my favourite map to play.

Honestly you can buy BoK only for the map, she's just gorgeous

9 out of 10 flight sim owners recommend BoK. The 10th will be shot at dawn.

Whenever I did a quick mission it is invariably always on the Kuban map. It's just so gorgeous it keeps bringing me back. The other maps are great too but why have hamburger when you can have steak?!

You are right, but don't forget the Moscow map - especially when flying the outskirts of this huge town I always wish to explore,

but alas there's always that red curved arrow stopping me to keep dreaming...

Kuban is stellar.

That said I’d hate to be without any of them for various reasons.

 

If I had to pick one - it would be Kuban.

I have both, I like each of them overall. BOK is great for the map for sure, if you have played other "more modern" combat flight sims, that shall not be named, then the map will be right at home for you. Making navigation really easy.

Kuban is gorgeous, well worth the dollars spent.

I especially like the Spit Mk V (collector plane sold separate) flying in both Career and PWCG Campaign over Kuban.

The terrain, mountains, and sea are beautifully rendered.

Kuban is my favorite map so far.....I love the summer and spring map, love the seaside and the mountains on the south.

It fun and worth getting just the map themselves is beautiful.  If you like the Heinkel He-111 it worth getting since it has the H-16  compare to the H-6 in BOS.
