Impending Update

I am looking forward to the impending update as patiently as possible.  At the same time, however, I am anxious about the extent of damage it will cause.  Past updates have wrecked the scripted campaigns and single missions that I downloaded from this web site.  The updates did the same to flight records I had made.  I would prefer to know in advance what I can do correct any such damage in advance of the update.  I am comfortable in using the Mission Editor to re-save affected campaigns and missions.  Any advice would be appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

Just save now all the recordings or things you think might break.

The missions will have to resaved/fixed after the patch, can't do much about it.

It would be nice if they automated this... having everyone reload every mission in the editor isn't that feasible an approach in the long run.

It's not as bad as loading every mission.

1. Open the editor.

2. In the Tools menu, click on Resave All Missions in a Folder.

3. Navigate to the folder containing the missions you want to resave and click OK.

Two developer updates ago Han said that they were planning to release the patch in two weeks. Two weeks put that this coming week and your most likely candidates are Tuesday and Wednesday. If nothing happens by the end of Wednesday then it may have been pushed back.

This week Thanksgiving is on Thursday 22nd November. So additionally to Han´s announcement "2-weeks" which was made two weeks ago, this might be a good indicator that we most likely see something happening on either Tuesday 20th or Wednesday 21st.

So, a couple of things in the comments. First, even Han alluded two weeks was the target BUT it was certainly not a promise and if there is a hiccup in production it could still be three or four instead. Second, it is only Thanksgiving in the 'ol US of A (although I seem to remember it is a different holiday weekend somewhere else on the globe as well) so it likely won't influence the DEV's timetable all that much. I suspect it will be either this Tuesday or next Tuesday - so, all the above mentioned prep work is still a good idea.

Two weeks sounds familiar to us who have been around Oleg since day one of IL2! We are used to sit  tight until any update, patch or info drops down suddenly and unexpectedly from out of the blue with a line of surprices that makes our heads go in a spin! So sit calmly and wait, things come in due time and will make us feel good again (until they start to advertice the next update!)

I'm sure they heavily considered the ramifications when they announced a two week release date. Unless something catastrophic happens, we should be flying P47's and K-4's with full bellies on Thanksgiving day!

Never believe dates of airplanes constructors! Games creators are worse. And game creators that create air simulations are the worse.

Waiting is the best part in a gift.

Be patient and the rewards shall be greater than expected.

Once a game update is there, critics of it can begin then why hurry to get it if it is to criticize it?!

But like all I am waiting!
