Il-2 1946 current best offline modpacks?

So, got the Thunderbolt itch again, and have reinstalled Il-2 '46 again with the intention of running some campaigns, and am trying to figure out the current mod scene. It looks like the Ultra Pack is currently the online standard, and it appears that Deep Blue World is the offline counterpart to it, but it only seems to go to 4.12, rather than 4.13.

 

I hadn't run mods back when I was last playing Il-2 so I'm a bit lost at the moment. How does all this work these days? 

 

I'm also trying to kludge in VR support too while I'm at it...

Hi Voyager,

 

IL-2 1946 has  several modded versions, all of which offer various maps and planes in addition to the original game content. If you have been away from IL-2 1946 for a while - it can all seem a bit baffling. I have four separate installs of 1946.

The versions I use are as follows:

 

Vanilla stock un-modded version 4.13.4M (for online play via hyperlobby on servers that insist on original game set up.)

 

HSFX  7.03 modded online version based on 4.12.2M I use this for online play mostly, on servers that support HSFX

 

VP Modpack version 4.12.2M I use this exclusively for offline play, it's a brilliant mod. (My Favourite)

 

B.A.T. 4.12.2M Linebacker. This is a huge mod, up to 90GB of HDD space, but it is the most complete version which includes 4 modules, Dawn of flight, The Golden Age, WWII, and The jet age. Literally hundreds of aircraft to choose from. This version is for offline play only. (as far as I know)

 

I think I am right in saying Dark Blue World and Ultrapack are incorporated into the Mods I have mentioned. I hope this has been helpful, but I'm sure someone with more complete knowledge than me will be along to add more information.

 

In the meantime - my recommendation for offline campaign play would be the VP Modpack.

Just wanted to say been having a blast with 1946 and vp modpack, flying navy fighters that we don't have in BOX, the wildcat, and corsair, superb stuff. So much stuff to fly. Is there any way to get b-17 or b-24 dgen missions? I couldn't find any when trying to start a campaign.
