Dear Pilots,

Today we’d like to show you some of the USAAF and RAF squadron emblems we have commissioned for Battle of Bodenplatte. These have been created by our good friend Isaac ‘Spektre76’ Chavira who is a member of our awesome IL-2 community. He has done a great job of researching and recreating these colorful and fun squadron emblems.

Full news - here is the full announcement.

No, it remainded in the UK until the end of war.

March 2020, any takers?   (Glad for schedule on career.)

I hope BOBP is as rich a release as Kuban was.   That was a game changer.

No Czechoslovak squadron was affected by Operation Bodenplatte. It doesn´t mean I wouldn´t love to have an emblem of any of them on my plane though. But it wouldn´t make any sense in this sequal.

Thunder Bolt (...and Lightning, very very...).

The pilots were nuts, then?

It's a hawk. As in Hellhawks (TM).

Before anybody asks:

I consider myself the greatest Punderbolt pilot out there.

This one was awesome to make. I like the emblem motto which means “If Heaven Should Fall”. As many times as they have been activated and de-activated they truly deserve the Phoenix emblem.

I have a large collection of images of USAAF patches as well as the official WWII combat squadrons histories (including heraldry) published by the USAF post war.  It doesn't look like the 396th FS had an officially approved squadron patch and I have never come across one on eBay or other auction sites - you may struggle to track that one down.

I might be able to help with others however, if you are struggling to find them.

Thank you, if they were there and it’s on my task board, you’ll seem them.  :)
