La-5(F) : boost works in 2nd supercharger gear?

I've always thought the boost (Forsazh) on La-5(F) only increases manifold pressure (MP) at low enough altitudes (under 2.2k - 2.5k give or take, depending on outside temp and velocity) AND only in 1st supercharger gear. I was therefore quite surprised to notice yesterday that activating boost at 4500 meters in 2nd supercharger does increase MP (and thus top speed).

That occured in a MP server, same was observed in QMB

 

Am I mistaken about boost only working down low? Or is this a bug?

There may be some problem with simulating radial engine planes (FW190A-3 and A-5, La-5 and La-5FN) above 6000 meters. Both manifold and performance.

This was not always the case. A few updates ago, I can't remember which one, (maybe the one that released the g6 and the la5 fn) boost (Forzazh) started increasing the manifold pressure on stage two of the la5 series 8. Also the canopy was able to be opened at speeds way over 300kmh. Before the canopy was unable to be moved at high speed and I'm 100 percent sure the boost button had no effect on manifold pressure in gear 2

Yes it works in second gear too. La-5(F) achieves its top speed at about 5500 m with boost. Above 6000 m the boosted and unboosted speed curves merge, and boost no longer gives any meaningful increase in performance.

That's what I noticed but my question is whether it's correct. I've always thought/read that it couldn't boost in 2nd supercharger gear.

I'm not 100 % sure on the La-5 but for FN its correct. In game, FN's boost gives nothing(actually slows it down) on 2nd superchargr stage unless above 6000 m where it raises critical alt and extends the speed curve tangentially all the way to I dont even know how high... which is almost certainly a bug

boost shouldn't be on 2nd supercharger speed..

Please open a bug in the proper section then. That's the proper channel to bring it to the devs attention. They cannot scan the entire forum for bugs.
