Mannawar Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 Greetings, After the last update awhile back, all my Tank (and flight) settings returned to Default setting. I am slowly managing to customize my tank settings the way I like them. But there is one setting I cannot recover no matter what keys or combination of keys I try. I want the tank view that is looking down the tank barrel with the crosshairs in it. It is what to use for aiming at the enemy. I used to be able to zoom in and out, and turn the turret 360 degrees. I don't what the name of that view is so that I can change it. I have been through the game settings as well as the input file in the bin folder, and haven't found it. I've tried changing turret settings, camera settings, pilot head settings, weapons settings, etc. without success. I admit, I am clueless. I bet there is an easy answer. Would someone please tell me what it is. Also, I cannot get the tank to fire, another frustrating thing. OK folks, what am I missing?? Thanks
Mannawar Posted November 13, 2018 Author Posted November 13, 2018 Thanks Thad for taking the time configure such a thorough reply; I hope to able to apply tonight. Have a swell day!
jokerBR Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 Hi guys, first of all, thanks Thad for the controls table. The reason I'm here is because I'm able to steer the tank, and apparently I am taking control of the turret when changing station and pressing T, but other than that, I cannot move the turret using mouse or any key on keyboard. Does anybody knows how can I recover mouse control to move the turret? Which control do I have to reset/change? Cheers
Thad Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 Try inputting L Shift + T first …. then press [ T ].
jokerBR Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 (edited) Tried that already. Nothing works. I cannot find where these controls are mapped. Any hint? Or they aren't accessible to players? (hardcoded) EDIT: Reset all commands and now it is working as it should. Will have to rebind all my joystick axis and such, but at least it's solved. Edited November 17, 2018 by jokerBR
Thad Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 (edited) My best guess is that there is a keymapping conflict. Ensure there is nothing conflicting with your Mouse control in the keymapper. The Center column in my chart shows where they are mapped from. Addendum: Once you get the controls set up and they all work as they should, save a copy of your 'input' file for TANK use. Then reset all keymapping to default for aircraft use. When you desire to go tanking again, retrieve and paste your TANK 'input' file. Start the game, and go blow things up. Mannawar Posted November 17, 2018 Author Posted November 17, 2018 Hello Thad, The table you provided has been helping me out so much. I've been able to "re-key" all kinds of commands; much appreciated. I have one thing left that I cannot solve, so I am throwing it out there, and asking for help. I am unable to use the mouse wheel for zooming in and out when I am in the gun sight view. In the past, I was able to use the mouse for "zooming" in several different views, including the gun sight view. Now I can't seem to get it right. 1) The table reads W S mouse Wheel in the camera settings....What does W S mean?? I have tried using them on the keyboard as zoom controls with no response. 2) I really am baffled as to which setting(s) to assign the mouse wheel so I can zoom when in gun sight view, and maybe other views as well. I have tried using the mouse wheel exclusively for the gun sight view, and it still doesn't work. What I see is that it is also used for a "GUI ....." function that I don't understand and therefore cannot reassign. What are your thoughts???
Thad Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 (edited) Salutations, I just did a quick check with my tanks using the games kemapper 'DEFAULT' assignments. Zooming with the mouse wheel is a normally a default setting. Pz III Turret Gunsight Mouse Zoom OK Gunsight Move Turret OK Crew Compartment Mouse move OK Crew Compartment Mouse zoom OK Open Hatch Mouse view OK Open Hatch Mouse Wheel Zoom OK. TIGER Turret Gunsight Mouse Zoom OK Gunsight Mouse Move Turret OK Crew Compartment Mouse move OK Crew Compartment Mouse zoom OK Open Hatch Mouse view OK Open Hatch Mouse Wheel Zoom OK Secondary Gun. Mouse move and zoom OK Not default W Can be assigned for Zoom InS Can be assigned for Zoom Out Mouse is working fine. I suggest you check if anything has been assigned in keymapping to interfere or competes with your mouse control. I normally run a separate tank 'input' file that is set up specifically for tank use and swap out my aircraft 'input' file with it when I want to go tanking. 2 hours ago, jokerBR said: Tried that already. Mannawar Posted November 18, 2018 Author Posted November 18, 2018 Greetings Thad, You are really terrific to take the time to check your default settings; thanks so much. Frustrating scene here. Made sure nothing else but zoom command was assigned to mouse wheel, and it still doesn't work. There is another action assigned which is: GUI action mouse scroll. Now what?? I'll tear my hair out if I have to start all over again from all default settings; but whatever it takes. And yes, I do create a separate file for my tank and flight settings, thank you for the suggestion. Wishing you a gentle evening, Leslie
336th_Porkie- Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 it would be nice to have a control, at bottom of screen to save game settings to another file and transfer them back to game settings on same screen.
