Depending on how much we have to work with in the Mission Editor and how the AI logic works... I'm sure some of the lads will make some Tank missions or a "campaign" if you will. 1
Lewis-A2A Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 Is this a straight up NO or a no, not at this time. With a Dynamic campaign this could be THE tank sim. Be great if it could be added down the line, the best aspect of the il-2 Battles series for me is the single player. It is pretty much best in class for single player. Dynamic, immersive, story driven with history and makes me feel like a pilot in a greater war, rather than the be all end all rambo of the air and the war revolves around me. 1 2
OrLoK Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 I never take anything as a straight "NO!". Rather not currently planned for in the development schedule as far as we know. I'll be surprised (if TC is a success) if we don't see something of the sort in the distant future. but, in the meantime, we have mission makers (like NETSCAPE etc) who'll create campaigns and perhaps Tank integration to the PWCG? 1

Feathered_IV Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 A random mission generator with aircraft is relatively simple. You just have templates with very generic targets and let the planes blunder into each other so the AI can take over. A ground based mission generator would be a much more difficult proposition however. Coherent lines of defense and pursuit of objectives would be crazy-hard to produce in a convincing way.

As TC begins to unfold and ultimately released I believe you are going to see servers start opening up for Tank focused land combat. As much as we can expect from the limitations that TC will have based on a lot of the "No" type responses we get in here. wowbagger Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 This is still the big question for me. I haven't been able to get a good image in my mind what TC missions/campaigns might be like - my single tank trundling along by itself shooting at whatever it comes across, or part of a larger operation - one of many trying to achieve a goal. If the main focus is going to be online multiplayer stuff, I'm afraid that leaves me out. 1
