HagarTheHorrible Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 Obviously not in a Raaid type weirdness but then that would take some doing, training even. No, am I weird because, every now and again I like to trawl through pictures of crashes with dead aviators from the wars, guessing at their last moments, how they died, what was going through the mind of victim and victor. I like to remind myself, every now and again, about the true nature, and cost, of what we do for fun.
DD_Arthur Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 Er......I'd have a cup of tea and consult a lawyer.... 1 1
Missionbug Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 I think most of us at some time look at the land and sky around us in game and do wonder what was going through the mind of those guys at the time, how do you deal with the fact that as you go into combat these could your last moments, we can play again, they could not. Anyway, have another beer or coffee and be thankful we can go to bed tonight and wake up tomorrow. Wishing you all the very best, Pete. 2
Trooper117 Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 Those kind of thoughts never even enter my head... I'm playing a game and I enjoy the challenge. That's it...

Usually the last thing to go through their mind was the gunsight.
69th_Mobile_BBQ Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 I don't look for 'final destination' pics, but I do think about how what was a very harsh reality got boiled down to a game of electronic Tag.
DickDong Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 (edited) TLDR, only read subject line, answer: yes you're weird. Edited November 17, 2018 by Banzaii
Finkeren Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 While I don't actively go searching for gory pictures of war casualties, I think it is a good thing to once in a while remind ourselves, what the war we play at was really like. It was not some heroic struggle or a glorious adventure. It was dirty, grim, horrible, painful and traumatizing in every sense and left deep scars even on those who escaped with their bodies intact. 1

6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 (edited) According to everyone I know, I am weird AF as well. But reading these only makes you safer: https://www.bfu-web.de/EN/Publications/Investigation Report/reports_node.html Edited November 18, 2018 by 6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann
