discord overlay ...

The discord overlay, supposed to show who is talking, is working just randomly for me. No matter what I try - sometimes its there, sometimes not.

I was wondering if someone perhaps has figured out some black magic to make it work reliably? Do I have to spit over my left shoulder before starting it? Or the other way round?

Agree. Completely random.  Tried all kinds of things restarting this or that first etc. Very frustrating; once you experienced it, u really want it... works great in TS but my squad mostly uses DC now..

Are you guys running any kind of reshade sweetfx? I had to remove it to get my Discord overlay to run in game..

No reshade here, but  Retnek taught me a trick: go to settings - game activity. Remove IL2 from the list. Add any of the other programs offered for addition in that dropdown list somewhere above, any, in my case thats often google chrome, et voila ... shortly after the overlay will reliably show.

I did not believe it first ...

i can't get it to work at all. first discord doesn't even show IL2 in "games". does it only work for steam games?

no, I have no steam, and recently it mostly works. Still not always ....

Mine 'works' sometimes but only shows the icon flash when someone is talking, I see their avatar but not their name. But half the time it happens and half the time it doesn't. Never really bothered much with it.

Mine was working once a while back, then stopped... Works in DCS though.

I guess I was wrong. Disregard my last post - just tested Discord overlay with this game and it works again. I've manually added it after first running the IL-2.exe, then it showed up in the drop down menu - voila! I now have overlay. ?
