Issues with the games client

Came here to check with other users or the game developers for the issue I encountered and if its possible to solve:

1: The game client runs very slow on my gaming pc which have far more power to run the game than what is the maximal settings but still as soon as I start the client, it uses most of the computers pcu and the client box is very hard to move, even harder to move it to my second screen, its like its lagging/freezing.

Also sometimes it wont close properly or refuse to when I close the game.
More alarmingly is when I downloaded the client and installed the battle for stalingrad game it took way longer than it should and had to restart the download as it for some reason stopped, once it caused the computer to lock down and I had to restart it.... After several restarts I have managed to have the game installed. The game itself runs perfectly, no issues there.

I use the game developers client, not steam but if this problem goes on I start to think steams version is a better choice as it seem to not have these issues. My wallet will cry then as I paid for a version which has problems and buy it again for the steam version....

 

Any one else having this issue or maybe know a solution?

First, where is your game situated? If in C\program files\ move it out of there asap! Windows has a nasty habit to deny your game to run properly in that folder. Copy and paste it to anywhere on your drive or preferably to another drive. Next, do not start the game fron the launcher! Go into

\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\bin\game\Il-2.exe"

and use the Il-2.exe rom there to start your game, the launcher is only nessecery to use for updating the game! Hope this helps.

Tried that and yes that worked, the game started perfectly and can be closed without issues. Will then use the client to update when needed, will be a risk it will be just as troublesome when I later get IL-2 battle of moscow and cuba and tank crews when I need to download and install them by using the client....

No. You have done the hard part. Any new maps, campaigns or collector planes you buy will be added to your existing files. No need to download anything further.

When you add a new purchase log into your profile page by clicking on the IL*2 logo at the top of this page and scroll down the menu to confirm purchases and activate keys.
