Hey Gents

I was trying to get a close up screenshot of my pilot in his cockpit but I can't find the key to hit to get the camera to zoom in close to his canopy. I hit the f2 but that only goes so far. Can one of the experts let me know which key to hit....Thanks a million in advance!

The scroll wheel on the mouse should zoom I think? I could be wrong, I rarely ever get to see external view.

No the wheel of the mouse does zoom but not close enough. I’m wondering if there’s a key that allows the camera to move very close to the pilot or plane. Thanks though.

hold right click and move your mouse forward or back while in external view

For a screenshot you can pause the game, go to free camera and then move the free camera using the slow movement feature where you want it. It is a bit fiddly because even at slow the camera movement is very coarse.

If you want to film close up video, you can also use one of the additional outside cameras (LAlt+F2) and tweak the settings so that it is close to the cockpit and from any angle you want.

You will need to search a bit for the threads that give the details of how to do that.  At a certain closeness to objects you will start to see inside the model, so there is a limit to how close you can get in game.

You can adjust the speed at which the camera moves in freemode in the settings.

Where can you change that? I only see detailed options for the different "quick views" in the "Camera" options.
