Olt_Kloetenburg Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 (edited) The mechanic must have asked to take a picture of their base from the air. After multiple kills in a day and thereby scoring his 200th victory, the "Kommodore" took a low and fast pass over the runway. This is a special picture. While the mechanic wanted to take a shot on an air victory of Olt. Otto Sackler on Mig fighters attacking the JG 52s base, it became a tragic image of his final moments. A strafing shot did hit the engine and set it on fire, the airplane crashed with Sackler still on board. Most haunting are the three attackers climbing away from the crashsite.
