DaHeck Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 Not sure if anyone has ran into this and i'm hoping it's just an "oops" in the settings. When I move my head from left to right, or front to back, my head position in the cockpit doesn't change, rather the whole plane seems to slide around on screen while my head position in the cockpit remains at the center. I'm not sure when it started because I've been fiddling around with settings trying to optimize VR... Looking up/down and rotating left/right work alright, it's just if i strafe my head left/right/forward/backward is when the my head stays centered and the plane looks like it slides around on my screen. I'm using a Lenovo Explorer. I'm not certain if I need to provide more info or system specs... let me know please. I love IL-2 and this VR stuff, but it just went a bit wonky on me. Thanks, DaHeck 1
-332FG-Gordon200 Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 Press the keypad # 5 to re-center yourself in the cockpit. Using the Insert, Home, Page up, etc will not work to change pilot's position while in VR. You'll need to set your seat position in each aircraft while in a Quick Mission using Insert, Home etc. You can do that while in auto-pilot. If you plan to fly mostly in VR you'll need to nudge yourself left or right depending on your dominate eye. When satisfied press F10 and the sim will remember your preference for that plane. When you later press keypad # 5 it will shift to that spot. If you later make adjustments just save by pressing F10 again. IL*2 in VR truly is amazing. Hope you have many hours of fun. 1
FolkSong Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 Make sure you have "limit VR view" disabled in the settings. What you're describing is exactly what that option does. Also I still get the shifting when the game is paused, but it works properly when unpaused.
DaHeck Posted October 31, 2018 Author Posted October 31, 2018 Thanks for the replies. I'll try both suggestions when I get off work and report back!

Re-enabling the "limit VR view" option fixed my issue. 23 hours ago, Gordon200 said: Press the keypad # 5 to re-center yourself in the cockpit. These tips are super useful. They should be pinned somewhere for all VR users to see. The seat position means the difference between having the gun sight in the right spot in each plane or having to move your head around to get it there. I shot down 3 109's with greater ease in the i16 escort mission. 1
JohnHolmes Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 For some reason this problem is happening to me in gamed, even when "limited VR view" is disabled \ Any ideas on what Im doing wrong?
[CPT]Crunch Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 6 DOF isn't enabled, you've got a headset tracking problem, if its a WMR devise, up the room lighting. When the tracking goes bad it reverts to regular 3 axis tracking, does exactly what you describe even with cockpit limits turned off. 1
JohnHolmes Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 Thanks for the response Crunch I restarted Windows Reality Portal and the problem seemed to go away.

newbravado Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 I just had this exact problem. I'm going to check on "limit VR view" I never changed any of my settings, so I don't know why this would all of sudden just happen? A few days ago I had to re-do the seated view in WMR because I began (for reasons unknown) facing off kilter. VR is a little wonky me thinks.
coconut Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 Switching back and forth between the two WMR input modes worked for me. By default default it's the Windows key plus some other key I forgot. Sorry if I'm not being clear, not using WMR much at the moment.
firdimigdi Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 Inside out tracking depends alot on the conditions not changing much from session to session. With Oculus I had to redo the height training if I played one session in the daytime and the next at night. For WMR specifically do not start the headset if it's not facing the right direction and/or the cameras are blocked (by a finger for example) - Win+Y is the shortcut coconut mentioned.
newbravado Posted May 24, 2021 Posted May 24, 2021 My limit VR view box was still checked. Rebooted WMS and everything is back to normal. Just a glitch.
Marvel Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Hi guys, me too have axperienced the same issue. This afternoon I will check "limit VR view" to try to solve this issue.... Thanks for suggestions! Ciao! M
Marvel Posted May 26, 2021 Posted May 26, 2021 Hello guys, sorry, but.... where could I find "limit vr view"? I checked in the game settings but I don't find it. Ciao! M
