Problem with LA5 Throttle control. Not Flyable. A bug?

Recommended Posts

I have an issue with the La5s8 or La5Fns2 throttle control.

In all other planes when I configure Throttle 1 and Throttle 2 with my Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas Throttle, the throttle 1 for single engine and the throttle 1 and 2 for twin engine works perfectly.

But when I fly the two La5 models then the control does not move the throttle lever but another one (maybe mixture or something else).

As a result it is not possible to fly the La5.

Anybody else has this issue. Is there a config file for each plane where this can be changed.

Maybe a hint. I use Custom Realism settings. In the custom settings if I do not check the box related to "Throttle auto limit" then I have this issue only with the La5.

If I check the box then all is fine and throttle does move correctly. Is this a bug?

This sounds very odd, I'm not sure if it will help but could you find out which lever the throttle control moves? Or take a screenshot and indicate which lever it is?

Also have you checked whether you have any axes combined with the throttle axis/axes you're using?

Works fine for me - could only test in the normal La5 with different engine though as I don´t own the 5FN

Really odd - I have both and use a similar input setup (X56) as you do, assigning the left throttle handle for engine one and the right throttle handle for the engine two.

Everything works fine. But I do not have any helpers checked in the Realism Settings - none, not even "Warmed Up Engine".

Yes, I checked all the axes and there is no combined configuration. When one uses the Expert or Normal Realism mode all is fine. But in the Custom mode then you have this bug.

This bugs make that the pitch levers instead of the throttle lever is used.

The problem stands with the La5 and the La5FN and as well as the A20B.

I found in my searches a thread in this forum about this issue.

It seems it is an old problem and was already in version 3.003 or so. Devs have not corrected that. I will post it again in the Bugs thread.

But do you use the Custom Realism mode or any of the other two.

I had that problem for a while only with the LA5, couldnt fixed it, so I stopped flying it.

One of the updates fixed it for me.

Warthog throttle.

I think all I can do is wish best of luck seeing as it's a known bug, I really hope it gets sorted out for you. (and others) ?

I use custom - yes.

X-55 Throttle here.

Set left throttle for Engine 1 and right throttle for Engine 2 - nothing else.

I use the Custom Realism mode. And here are my customized settings:

Hope this helps

I remember that someone posted about this kind of problem while ago. The problem or bug was linked to "Engine auto control" difficulty option.

If you have Engine auto control ticked, the LA5 throttle doesn't work. Just tried it myself. With that ticked my throttle moves the mixture RPM control (I also have seperate throttle axis for different engines, so I don't know what happens if you use general throttle control. Edit: Same thing with general throttle binding).

Edit: A quick fix is to disable the automation Left Shift+M when flying La5, La5FN or A20.

In  CUSTOM check  if you have "Cruise control", "Engine Auto Control" ticked - if you have this "aids for lazy virpilot" ON the AI control throttle for you. :)

If you only bind throttle (not throttle 1 and throttle 2), does it work?

Thanks for all comments. I will do some tests as soon as I have some more time, and come back.
