zelil Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 how come certain players no mater how slow or hard angle of attack never have their wing slats pop out? They can pull any maneuver they and they wont budge.
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 How were you verifying this? Tracks from multiplayer? Possible that slat positions aren't sent accurately in the multiplayer updates? I had asymmetric slat deployment occurring online on my plane Friday just gone. Looked pretty cool.
Finkeren Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 (edited) Maybe it is just a question about the distance at which such details are rendered, so the slats were out but you didn’t see it? In any case, the slats always deploy at a certain AoA, regardless of speed, so if the plane is pulling hard on the elevators they should deploy. Edited October 28, 2018 by Finkeren

External stores aren't rendered that far out so sometimes they pop in as you get closer. Maybe slats are the same.

I don't think I've ever seen asymmetric slat deployment. It was my understanding that this could be a problem on the real thing, but I've never seen it simulated.

Then you fly nice and balanced I have seen it a few times when going slow (usually climbing) and turning left or right(and not being balanced), then one wing has a slat out and the other which is getting less airflow (because im in slip) doesn't. (or is it the other way round i dont remember ) Edited October 28, 2018 by Bullets
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 (edited) Yep, I was flying low speed and off balance due to damage when I saw it. Edited October 28, 2018 by =EXPEND=Tripwire

I just tried it in QM and got assymetric deployment; I had to have a lot of opposite rudder in, and not be pulling too hard on the stick, or otherwise they would just both pop out.
