Training Aircraft In BoS

  1. 1. Would you like to have a two seater aircraft designated for training within the game similar to the Tiger Moth in CLoD?

    • Yes, I think it is a good idea
    • No, I think it is a bad idea

I thought it might be a good idea to release an aircaft specifically designated fo training or free flights, much like the Tiger Moth in CLoD. I would personally like to see an aircraft like this on both the German and the Russian side, maybe a Bf 108 for the Germans and something else for the Russians.

The Bf 108 is no trainer but a sports and touring aircraft. :)

But anyway, I would like it to fly.

training aircraft? why?

you just hit refly if you die...........

i realy wonder how often a CoD player is realy flying the Tiger Moth.

Waste of resources IMHO.

I also think, the Bf108 wouldn´t be the right choice for a german training aircraft. But in general I like the idea of having an aircraft for training missions.

You could start a singleplayer career for example by completing at least a part of flying school. For a complete historical correct basic flight training you would need a whole bunch of aircraft types.

I always like it when you fly an actual training aircraft in training missions. Plus, I've always had a curiosity about German trainers, so it would be nice to see them.

In the case of the Tiger Moth, I think I've read that CloD included it so that actual pilots and developers who have flown real-life Toger Moths could then see how well the CloD fm compares to real life.

In my own case, I never bothered flying CloD's Tiger Moth for the reasons Frankyboy stated - crashing virtual Spitfires, Hurricanes, LaGGs, and 109s doesn't matter to me.

Every training aircraft made is a lose of combat aircraft that could be made instead. Unlike historical pilots, we are free to crash and break combat aircraft and we are short of instructors to fly with us in trainers.

If Requiem opened a virtual piloting school, a two seater made with two players (trainee and instructor) in mind would be great. Otherwise, costly flavouring.

Actually I do not believe at all that we are short of instructors, to give them the opportunity to actually use a trainer that is a fast plane like a Yak-7UTI or with a function as the Recon version like the Yak-7V, You don't really go from a slow biplane to a fast low wing aircraft directly, The curve need a fast mover like a Yak-7 UTI or a direct V version but a dual seat is a very demanding and useful tool. Like I said in my request and link above. Every more experience friend online will become an instructor or to enjoy doing flight missions as a dual team which is very fun.

I think that a trainer would have to be tied to the development of a combat plane and would not be a viable stand alone development option. For instance, the team might be able to  develop a Yak-7b with a M-105PA engine and then make a mod option that turned it into a Yak-7v. Still, I think most players would want to use the Yak-7b over the Yak-7v and the team might not consider the investment in the Yak-7v conversion worthwhile, especially when they may be able introduce a new combat aircraft instead of the Yak-7v.  :salute: MJ
