Yes there are cheaper models but thought the more detailed would appeal to the 'rivet counters'.?

I was thinking about making my simpit 2.0 as a close-enough replica of D.Va cockpit, but had no idea how to do it without exact measurments. The 1/16 model actually mimics the originals construction... and assembly manual (in free pdf) actually has in-scale drawings of fuselage frames, enough to recreate  in-cockpit space... or maybe even get laser cut 1:1 plywood frames out of 1:16 drawings and make actual recreation :D.
