Train Rendering

Has anyone else noted that the render distance for trains and train cars (some trucks too) seems very short? When I zoom in the camera I can see them ok, but when I zoom out to line up the run...pooof, they're gone! I find it difficult to line up my next attack when they don't "pop into existence" until they're within what seems like 1km. Maybe I've got a graphics setting wrong somewhere, but it seems awfully short of a distance.

There is a mod for the increase of distance of ships and smoke as you might have seen already.

So perhaps in the near future...

I've noticed this with trains, at 2k altitude I've looked down at a station and watched the train appear almost below me.  Strange given that the steam plume from locomotives is visible from a great distance.

Same thing here, I thought it was only a VR thing. Trains and ground AA disappears out my side window at 1km, I can make a video tonight..

Yes this is a very big bug and a current problem with spotting ground targets..

things that used to be spottable from 10,000m are not blinking at 1-2km and its random come in from north and you can see the train from 5km.
come in from east and train carriage not rendered till 800m

also the lodding needs to be improved.
you look at a truck sat 300m away its a low detail carboard model you just zoom in and it turns to a full detail modeled truck
this range should be like 1000m not 100m

Lol shameless advertisement for a mod that will not help and has nothing to do with this bug and will not help in online play with mods off.

By default all trains, tanks, ships, planes buildings should be easily visible from 10,000m

Listen, I only try to help a bit.

Don't start your nonsense  by saying things like ' Lol shameless advertisement'.

What do I have to win with it?

Could this actually be to do with the distance from the train to the player aircraft the mission builder has set it to spawn in?

It is common practice for mission builders to make things like AAA only exsit when the player is a certain distance from it. This helps with resources.

I got killed yesterday by the german aa halftrack and I saw the tracers but the truck didnt appear until I was basically toast.  Not saying I wouldnt have died, but I could have probably taken the truck with me atleast.  It's the worst with ships though, as I stated in the other thread.  Hopefully its addressed soon.  I've noticed it in the past but it almost seems worse this update, which in all fairness is overall great.

Yeah this mod looks awesome, but I'm an "online only" player, so it wont really help me. This does prove however that the issue can be fixed. Right now I have to use other objects like trees and buildings to make a mental note of the general direction I need to go, but make very fast adjustments at the last minute when the object finally pops into reality. Really hampers bomb accuracy.
