I'm completely new to Flying Simulators. I have played War thunder using mouse. I'm planning to buy BOBP. So I'm going to buy a Joy stick, but don't know how to choose one. I'm living in a country which flying is not very famous. Because of that I couldn't find a shop that sells them in here. I have to buy it from Amazon. So I won't have a chance to test it myself. Can you pick me some good Joysticks? I prefer lower to mid range prize tags. I need to know How to learn to fly too. Do I need any other thing?

Hi,

flying with the mouse is already quite challenging, but if you want to get more skills then a good joystick will help you a lot. There is broad palette of products on

the market - from those cheapos to the most sophisticated ones (high end prize tag!). For a good start, I'd suggest the following:

- Saitek Rino X56 system: this HOTAS system is a good start (HOTAS = Hands On Throttle And Stick)

- Saitek Rudder Pedals: Although you can use the Rhino X56 joystick with its twist function for rudder input, it is much better

                                          to have a rudder combo.

I know, Saitek might not be the best of all flight gears on the market, but you get a good basic device at a reasonable prize. I think it is not a bad start for you.

The more experience and passion(!) you will gain, the more ambitious you will be. Then, of course, you might want better, more sophisticated hardware. But

these goodies have all high prize tags. I made some very good experience with the Saitek products, but of course, as soon as my wallet will allow I will opt

for some material like Virpil / VKB / BRD.

Some other people might suggest other brands or systems depending on their experience - like for example Thrustmaster. I used these products too, but

way back in the 90's and my personal impression is that today's low prize Thrustmaster material is kind of cheapo.

Hope, I could help you with my personal advise. See you in the skies.

I don't think rudder pedals are a must have but depends on your budget, a Truthstmaster T1600 is pretty good and rather cheap.

I personally own a Saitek X52 pro and I am very happy with it (not one of the cheapers but theres a separate thottle and many buttons, switches hats and so on, also you can lock the twist if you want to use rudder pedals instead.

A freetrack system (cheap and almost free if you build it yourself using a webcam and some leds theres totorials on youtube I believe) or a trackir 5 also is a must have, some will go for VR but I personally don't really think I have the need for it.
