NiiranenVR Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 For a month ago , or so - I have bought a Sidewinder ...... But what is the right feeling on the Forced feedback When Im rolling at the ground I feel some rumpling in the stick, and in the air I feel some resistance ..... But not much more ...........but maybe that's it ....?
BOO Posted October 12, 2018 Posted October 12, 2018 pretty much that - Its not terrifically implemented but im not sure if thats the game or the tech since its pretty much the same across DCS, Clod and BOX. You can feel the airflow over the wings drop as you approach stall with a modicum of shake, few low speed ground rumbles and (I cant remember in BOX) perhaps some slight cannon judder and possibly some knock if you change supercharger gears. It should move when you adjust trim as well. 1

But not much more ...........but maybe that's it ....? My settings: In-game shaking to 100% and feedback 60% (70% for Yak 7b). Don't use any dead zones or curves for pitch and roll setting in-game (for yaw I use MFG Crosswind rudder pedals). This way you should get very good feel for trimming effects (which get messed up if you apply curves and dead zones) and the stick will be more realisticaly harder to move the faster your aircraft travels (pressure of airflow over control surfaces). When you slow down, landing for example or stall, the stick movement should become easier and more loose. Stick should shake when near stall and when aircraft under stress. The stick becoming hard to pull in a dive should remind you to throttle back if need be. The MSFF stick should help you fly smooth and therefore fast and make it easy to make the most of trim controls (very sensitive to trim). With FF it is like having something live and active rather than dead. For me a stick without FF is truly a dead stick. I use my MSFF2 in conjunction with a Gametrix 908 JetSeat in sound mode for BoX (https://dreamsimteam.blogspot.com/p/jetseat-ug.html) and a vibration headset for even more added immersion; next up is VR :)) Tips: Unplug stick USB from PC when not in use and turn of electric power at the wall socket. When PC is turned on and you want to use the stick, turn on electric power first and then plug the USB into PC. Use the same USB port as before. Always test the stick before use via devices and printers facility. I do not grip the stick around the middle, rather I hold it between thumb and fingers nearer the top of stick for more precision; I place a square of reusable sticky tape over the small hole at the bottom of the stick to keep the FF activated (don't leave the sticky tape on all the time for long periods if not in use and still powered). Sometimes in BoX I find the FF gets over activated and the stick becomes extremely hard to move. If and when this happens I just move the in-game feedback setting down to zero and then back up again to 60% and all is fine. Happy landings, 56RAF_Talisman Edited October 13, 2018 by 56RAF_Talisman

Happy landings, 56RAF_Talisman Sir, could you please tell me under which operating system you are using/flying your MSWFF2? Win10? Thanks for the answer.

wtornado Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 I will have to take mine out of the closet and retry it if it works again in win 10 64 bit and this game. I have my 10 year old Logitech 3D pro and I just ordered dual T16000m joysticks for Starcitizen I have no more room to put stuff near the computer.
the_Teacher Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 At first I had issues with MSWFF2 running on Win 10 that I have never encountered on Win98, XP or Win 7. Then I followed Mr. Talisman's Tips from the third post in this topic and joystick now works 100%. Issues before were FF related, joystick was sometimes completely limp with no FF at all, or partially limp with FF working for firing, stalls, aircraft under stress etc. or sometimes it worked fine. Later I plugged the power first then connected the USB to a rear USB port at the motherboard (I recommend not to use front facing USB ports at desktop PCs when connecting the joy) and I also disconnected my graphic tablet that was connected via USB. After I did these things joy started behaving as it is supposed to. Thanks Talisman for tips.
