Smaller aircraft icons request

With the original IL2 I believe it was possible to toggle icons you you could turn off, on and have less information.  Would it be possible to create a mod that includes the red or blue arrow only and not distance and aircraft type?  I need icons occasionally to spot planes in SP mode but would like them to be less intrusive.

Thanks for your help.  Just tried it and it's great.  Is there an option that also disables the bracketed enemy plane?

Yes, according to the mods creator:
