1./KG4_EKat Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Today, when starting IL-2 BoX in Steam (VR mode) I received a pop-up message while at the opening menu for IL-2. The message informed me that new controllers had been detected and inquired if I wanted to add them. I have not seen this before so I tried to select the devices listed as cancelling this option didn't seem to work. I selected them, but when I went into a mission and tried to fly, I had no controls. I then went into Steam's Settings Menu, under Controllers, General Controller Settings, and noted that 'Guide Button Focuses Steam' was checked and 'no controllers detected' was listed. I'm presuming I should have noticed a listing there of my installed and operating USB CH control devices. But, alas, notta. I'm using CH Control Manager 4.55 with a CH Flightstick Pro, CH Throttle Quadrant, CH Rudder Pedals. Windows had recognized my controllers and Control Manager was working correctly (which is usually my source of such problems). I've tried a PC restart, but that hasn't helped. I'm concerned that I may need to uninstall/reinstall Steam. Not sure what else to do next as I can't seem to find a way to force Steam to detect my USB input devices again. If indeed that is my problem. Any suggestions?
Sokol1 Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Under Steam settings > Controller un-check all boxes there, this is need for STEAM controller an prevents other joysticks to be detected. Is not need that you CH gear are visible there.
1./KG4_EKat Posted October 10, 2018 Author Posted October 10, 2018 Thanks Sokol and I followed your suggestion. When I went into IL-2, it didn't seem to make a difference with my joystick and rudder controls. I then noticed that my throttle quadrant did move the throttle, so I surmised that I needed to re-map my joystick and rudder using in-game settings. I did that and all works well now. I suspect that when Steam 'discovered' my controls yesterday (still a mystery why it did that), that it had changed the axis designations that I was using for IL-2, which resulted in my joystick and rudder not functioning. In any event, I'm up and operating again. Thanks again for the reply.
