GP* Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 (edited) Ground effect is a “thing” even if it’s a “small” aircraft. -break- WWII aircraft are a lot heavier than your Cessna. So yes, you should feel the aircraft settling to the runway more quickly. This is a good thing. You don’t need insane glide ratios and it’s annoying for an aircraft to just float forever.
