David_4555 Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 I noticed the "default" or "stock" skins the game comes with are not in the skins folder. So, just out of curiosity, where are they?!
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 Buried In the game files , there is a tool to extract them.
David_4555 Posted October 5, 2018 Author Posted October 5, 2018 Could you please link me tho tool or a tutorial on how to do that? would be greatly appreaciated
BlackHellHound1 Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 No real need to extract them if you want to make some skins. Just use the templates provided by the devs and community. BlackHellHound1
David_4555 Posted October 5, 2018 Author Posted October 5, 2018 Thank you BlackHellHound1, i just want to mess with the skins, nothing particular, the fact they are "hidden" just makes me want to go and get them! I was thinking maybe un-censoring German skins etc....

So, just out of curiosity, where are they?! If you just want to have a look at them in Photoshop: Download unGTP for IL-2 here. Unzip and drag unGTP-IL2 into your install directory (Drive: X > IL-2 Strumovik Battle of X > Data). In the Data Folder you'll see numerous files: Skins.gtp - Skins5.gtp. These five gtp files contain the aircraft textures. Drag one file at a time over unGTP-IL2 and it will create a new directory in the Data folder called (null). Inside the (null) folder are the associated aircraft textures divided by airframe type. EDIT - I'd suggest making a shortcut to the unGTP-IL2 extractor and placing it on your Desktop. It makes it much easier to drag the file over without fighting the data window scroll process, and it will still extract it to the (null) folder. Edited October 5, 2018 by DetCord12B

Nothing happens when I try.
