OCD - old, crabby, and dangerous!

Two out of three isn't bad. I'm not dangerous, but I am old and crabby. Went out of town last Tuesday, got back on Thursday, and the trouble begins. Started up the PC only to be greeted by one of those "Your system is f***ing broke" messages. Tried a system image repair with no luck, re-booted and the HP did some repairs and all was well. Cruise the forums, read about new update which I'll do Friday morning when I get up. Got up only to discover that my PC died completely overnight! No manner of repair helped, PC just started, and immediately shut-down. Now I'm really pissed, no computer means no update for IL2 and me not getting back on-line! Pulled and checked the power supply, all was fine, tried a spare power supply, all was fine, still no luck booting. Pulled the SSD and hard drive, checked both of them, they were fine, memory chips are fine, on/off switch was fine. Re-seated CPU, still no luck. I'm guessing something went bad with the MB. No patience for me (you know - old and crabby) to purchase components and build a new system. Found an off-the-shelf system that fit the bill with one day delivery! Sadly, one day delivery turned into Monday, so barring any other crap going wrong I should have a new system tomorrow. On the good side I'm going from an I5 4690 to an I7 8700K, and from a Nvidia 1070 to a 1070ti. Being retired and on a fixed income I have to be careful of how I spend my money. But with the approval of the CFO (spouse), who needed some sweet-talk (I had purchased the Mongoos stick and throttle recently), all should be good. I mean I couldn't leave the stick and throttle sit by idly... So I should be a happy camper again tomorrow, unless Murphy shows up, in which case I'll get arrested for murder. Goodnight all.

I am not old enough to be retired, but I wanna, would not say I am dangerous either, but the rest of your description fitted me well.

I for sure hope you get it, good luck and thanks for your story

That's the way to start my day, with a good, hearty laugh! But you did make a good point.
