sevenless Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 I just read something in an Osprey book and wonder if this might be a good collector-plane for BoM? As you can see from the map, those units were involved in the defense of Moscow 1941/42. In December 1940 the I-26 fighter was re-designated Yak-1 and put into series production at Factories No. 301 (Moscow) and No. 292 (Saratov). Up to the time of the German attack on the Soviet Union, 451 Yak-1s had been built, of which 64 were produced in 1940. In the second half of 1941 another 894 were built. Source: Khazanov, Dmitriy.
