Blitz and AI in single player one on one

A year ago the  109 would fight a short while on a one on one and then head home.  I could catch him and it was if the AI had gone brain dead.  Has there been any improvement in that area?

We are working on the improvement of the AI behaviour for TF 5.0.

 

Some of the issues were a function of mission building... AI need a lot of direction and hands on in the programming of their behaviour.

Will it be problem in possible career mode where missions aren't scripted? So ai won't have these specific dorections?

CloD (rushed) Quick Missions typically have only 3 waypoint:

 

>  "Normal Flight" for combat area

>  "Engage fighters" - or bombers, AI plane tasked with one type don't engage another.

>  Then "Normal Flight" for base.

 

AI plane in "Normal flight" don't see enemy planes, neither their bullets.

 

AI don't stay in combat area until "the last man" (like in IL-2:GB) but is programmed to try replicate IRL returning for home if are damaged, low in ammo or fuel...

 

So, ignore the (rushed) Quick Missions and look for a better done Single Missions, some mission makers achieve minimize this CloD flaws at some degree, and wait what 5.0 will show in this matter.

We hope to have the basic behaviour of the AI changed for TF 5.0... so they will be more reactive to situations and their environment.

I can deal with that.  And I will look for some user made missions.
