I Bought It!

Well, I took the plunge. I went ahead and bought the Early Access for Tank Crew. I've been messing around all morning, shooting up the landscape and working out my control assignments.

So, I've got my CH Throttle Quadrant set up for pull-lever steering, and my pedals set up for acceleration and brakes. And various buttons to jump around to the different positions.

The only problem that I see is tank control assignments conflicting with airplane control assignments. Is there any way of loading different control schemes through the game interface?

If not, I'll track down the control assignments file and copy it, then make two different files and swap them in and out manually. But it would be nice if you could load one or the other through the interface to avoid conflicting airplane/tank assignments.

Anyway, I think this may become more popular than anyone ever suspected, eventually. I'm having a blast. And it all started just the other day when I decided to fool around with the default tanks.

I'm not sure why this would be a problem.  Aren't we either driving a tank or flying an aeroplane but....not at the same time?

Congratulations on your purchase btw.  I've enjoyed shooting the ships up with the Tiger:biggrin:

I've bumped into a couple of things that seem to be cross-pollinated, like sliding the right rudder pedal forward causing the tank to accelerate. But it's probably something that I've set up in the past and forgot about, messing with the new entries. Anyway, I cleared all joystick entries, and I'm going through and get the tanks set up the way I want them. Then I'll go back and add the airplanes back in and see how everything gets along. Just to be safe, I made a backup copy of my entire "input" folder first, in case I screw anything up.

Shooting ships with the Tiger? Oh, I have to give that a try!

Go into QMB Kuban map, select ships as ground targets, spawn in a tank just south of Anapa on the coast, drive up to the cliffs and the ships will sail past:salute:

I do that one too. The cargo ships and I think one is a tanker are pretty easy targets. Useful for long range shots. The smaller, faster patrol boats are tough. I've come close a few times but never hit one. Still a blast using the Tiger like that.

The real challenge is, doing this with the Pzkw III with its shorter gun and the smaller caliber.

Hi Thx for the reply, I have the game on steam as well as  il-2 BOS standalone, I downloaded blazing steppe from steam, but not sure how to link this account with my normal separate il-2 account? I have accessed TC thru my non steam account now. tried to access TC thru steam but gave me these errors. yes it's early access I know but wanted to make sure it's not my end? in steam I get the KV-1 screen but still get the error about skin can not be loaded into game. weird?
