Seahawks kicking all kinds of ass! First touchdown of second half was amazing!

One of the worst Superbowl games ever.  And no, I'm not a Denver fan, it was just not much of a game.

it was a Seahawks show, and if anything it served to prove Peyton Manning should consider retiring..

Do you talk about the strange alternation of short fights and long advertizing, that the US call "football"?..... :P;)

Oh that's what it is...American football (rugby for the ladies), I though Wembley was a strange place to hold a bowling tournament.

I find it funny when Brits take the piss on American Football, especially when you think of cricket lol

What about everyone else that takes the piss out of American football?

Its just funny its called football. The sport itself is fine, just football..... really? Lol.

Less crash helmets and couch stuffing lets you get about a bit easier.

This is how they do it here in Australia.

Well in fairness to that it's called football for the same reason rugby is (RFU) rugby football union, because at some point in the game they can kick the ball (field goal)

Aussie rules.....basically a brawl turned into a sport.

Can't argue with that.  Never liked it myself.  Much too shouty for me.

I don’t understand! You have the same sport in the US only you call it baseball.

In school we boys used to play football and the girls played baseball.

I missed it, because I was watching reruns of the show, Dexter. I love that show.  :salute: MJ

cricket is shite mate, pure and simple: a bunch of idiots mincing around a round pitch for three days.. I call it the "Commonwealth's Revenge" sport  ;)

I like rugby and I like American football, they're different sports and both have interesting elements to it, but if you want something tough you should have a look at the "Historic Florentine football", that's a legalised bar fight lol

I was watching season 3, episodes 3 and 4. Yeah, I can see how a lot of fans hated everything after season 4. I might be in that camp too if it were not for Hannah McKay. She is so dreamy.  Hannah McKay made it all worthwhile for me, but I hated the very ending of Dexter... :o:

And yet more people watch and play cricket than american football, mainly due to a tiny country called India...

Not that I'm giving an opinion to which is better, because I honestly don't give a crap, sport is so subjective as to what an individual likes, no matter what you personally think.

Me I like football and F1.

I don't really like to the American Football... it's too slow and repetitive for my taste, and the typical reactions of players are really annoying ("yeah, I'm the man...").

Talking about American sports I find baseball too boring (to watch but it's actually fun to play) while NBA is being totally ruined and I find it totally corrupted (now it's almost a show like WWE); it's a pity since I love basketball and being 193cm (6'4") I've played it a lot until I lost my left eye. Now it's all marketing, star-maker operations and athleticism.

Instead I love NASCAR... IMO it's so better than F1 (another ruined sport).

I've seen a match of the Aussie football variant and I like it.

PS: the final season of Dexter is really disappointing.

The final season of Dexter is disappointing, The final episode is a mess and the final scene ruins the whole series.

PS:  Hockey rules!

 Sacrilege ............

This SB was one of the most thorough whippings I have ever seen in a Superbowl.. The Broncos just got dominated in every aspect of the game.. I was hoping Peyton would get his ring.. and I knew it would be challenging.. but this kind of beating was totally unexpected..

American football, rules-wise, is really interesting and very team oriented. I never watch a full game on TV but I like playing NFL Madden. Management, tactics etc.

In professional cricket the length of a game ranges from 20 overs of six bowling deliveries per side to Test cricket played over five days.

Canadian football is much better than American football. :tease:

The biggest problem with the SB is the 2 weeks of hype before the game. The game almost never lives up to the hype.

  • 3 weeks later...
