Oxygen masks

Will the pilots be puting on their oxygen masks on at 3000 meters as they did in IL-2 1946? Althought when you speak you also need it so you may need it at takeoff. Nothing makes you look meaner than an oxygen mask.

you don't need to take a mask of to speak, Germans and Russians had throat mics instead of mics in the mask but still work while wearing the mask.

I liked that in old sturm.There is even Korea war mod where you need to put it on manually (pressing mapped button) otherwise you will ''blackout'' .That was kind of cool element adding to realism.Another good point was,that you had to unbutton yourself from your ''seatbelt'' prior to jumping out of your plane.Small things but bringing lot of immersion

You can even see the throat mic. Mesh helmet for summer or desert the visor isn't correct though.

Yes. Look at the neck and the lower face, it's made of glass.

 

 

Look again at the 'visor', it's the same glass with the other side of the helmet showing through.

Oxygen delivery systems have a huge effect on the combat efficiency of a fighter pilot at high altitude.  Some combatants used very efficient, low pressure, on demand, oxygen delivery systems while others continued to develop high pressure continuous flow systems.

+1 to masks. Talking about head gear, lw pilot in game still uses wrong old style goggles. Wonder if it will be corrected to final game...

+ 1 for me too even if i'm afraid will not need it in the Russian Front versus the VVS.

 

They will force us to fly at low altitudes....
