Turil Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Somehow, all the "soft" structures like smoke, lens flares, engine exhaust heat and fire are blocky. I have a ATI Radeon HD 4880 with 1GB of RAM. Is there any way I can fix that or is the card simply to old? Besides this problem everything runs fine. I added a few screenshots for clarification
Turil Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 Yes, I have the most recent drivers installed. I tried both high and ultra presets, with the same effect.
Lederhosen Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 are you using SweetFX by chance? If so this also happens in ROF
Turil Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 Nope. I guess it is a problem of the graphic card itself. Whatever effect / technique is used for those textures / structures like haze or smoke (does anyone know?) the card seems to not handle it well. I have a similar problem in The Witcher 1, luckily only in cutscenes when faces are shown. Guess it's time to upgrade.
NeutroN Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 hi, I had a similar problem with my ATI HD 4800, so I decided to upgrade whole PC instead of change only graphic card and all is fine now. Regarding of graphic card, I bought R9 280X.
