Explosions from Ammo appear to be missing / unable to trigger

I used to fairly frequently see the ammo explode on enemy aircraft carrying HE, but haven't lately.

To test if it was still working I set myself against opponents (both friendly and enemy in quick mission) Stukas with 37mm, Il2's with gunpods etc.

I tested using cannon rounds on the Lagg3 (20mm, 23mm AP & HE, 37mm HE & AP), La5 HE & AP , Bf109 to shoot specifically the gunpods.

The result, even with AP ammo shooting only the gunpod was that the wing would break. Even MG fire caused the wing to break. No matter how many rounds I put on the gunpod it wouldn't explode. HE/AP/MG didn't make a difference.

I also tried against the Spitfire MkVb with its wing mounted cannons and couldn't get them to detonate.

I appreciate that this may be a probability thing but it doesn't seem right that ammo explosions are so rare nor for shots to the gunpod to cause wing damage.

This appears fixed, tested with La5 using AP ammo vs Il2 m1943 HE 37mm gunpods.

Detonations on 1/5 passes, AP ammo hits attempting to hit only the gunpod. 1/75 ish hits caused a detonation
