Bearcat Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Just saw this.. I'll clear it out.. Thanks for the heads up..
352nd_Wheels Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 You need to check your Nuggets guide post also since not all of the "For Online Play" section is there. It cuts off after the pictures. The link to Tully's patching guide isn't working in the Nugget guide post. (The paragraph just above the Dedicated Servers Briefly section) New link: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/378607-Patch-order-entire-game-series-Make-sure-you-have-it-right! We also have an older patching guide at M4T separate from the IL-2 1946 patching guide.. 1.0 - 4.04m Patching and Installation Guide http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Knowledge_Base&op=show&kid=264 You also have only updated the dedicated server info in the paragraph above the Dedicated Servers Briefly section to v4.09m without mentionng that there are v4.10m an v4.11m dedicated server patches. -------------------------------- Dedicated Servers Briefly section. To find oout more about the subject of dedicated servers do a search either here or at M4T under Dedicated Servers. I am fairly certain that you mean UBI but anyone new to this site and the series won't know that is what you mean. Ultra Pack: You bvasically have (Spelling error.) 2-Individual Controls and if for whatever reason I want to revert to the default I can always rename that fie and do so (Spelling error? - Paragraph above the "A more detailed explanation of stick setup @ M4T" link.) but as far as the users folder settings go they arer all the same (Spelling error? - Paragraph below the "A more detailed explanation of stick setup @ M4T" link.) here is a guide in the main folder called Temp_Guide_4111 . I recommend that you take the time to go through this material before you take to the skies. Consider this a part of ground school. **Needed for carrier based aircraft. Chocks must be released before you can take off from a carrier. (This line seems out of place since all of the information about the control settings is a few paragraphs up.). -------------------------------- Other tips There is a link to all the cockpit gauges that can be found in the "Essentials Thread" linked in my sig, as is the M4T database. "Essentials Thread" - not linked in your signature and the link is broken. M4T database - M4T Knowledge Base That is where the link is taking the user but I wasn't sure if you meant something else?? -------------------------------- ***What to Back up*** Missions - This folder contains all the missions you may have downloaded or created yourself including Quicks. Quick is the folder where you place any user made templates that allow the user to utilize a new map while using the Quick Misson Builder. QMB for short. The Quick folder is located in the Missions folder.Default location: C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\Missions\Quick Quicks with an s is the folder where the text files that are saved when you use the QMB. These text files allow you to use the same settings for time, plane, map, etc when you play a quick mission. There is a Save button that creates the files in this folder and a Load button that uses the files in this folder. The Quicks folder is located in the main IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 folder.Default location: C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\Quicks These two folders are easy to confuse but they have very different and distinct functions. NGen - This is where your campaigns are This is where the information to generate a multiplayer campaign is stored. (I am not sure where the mission inofrmation is stored after you generate the campaign though.) conf - This folder contains your game settings.. as in sound, graphics, and game config. etc. This is not a folder but a file that is in the main IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 folder. Heywooood Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 straighten up and fly right BC...sheesh...:/
352nd_Wheels Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 I know that you have put a lot of work into fixing the Nuggets Guide but there are still some problems. Some of them are because M4T does not save searches. I also found some different links (newer and supplemental) when it comes to the links area that I think will make using them more user friendly for your readers. In the very first section of the article in the third paragraph I think that you meant to link this article for the Guide to Joystick Settings @ M4T.Joystick Setup Guide: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Knowledge_Base&op=show&kid=261 Installation and Patching of the sim section. You misspelled Dadalos Team. You forgot the I in their name. Daidalos Your "Patching Guide at M4T" link is incorrect. You linked to the old "1.0 - 4.04m Patching and Installation Guide" Knowledge Base article. The current patching guide for IL-2 1946 is at this link.IL-2 1946 Installation and Patching Guide: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Knowledge_Base&op=show&kid=584 PreFlight : Controls2 - Individual Controls (I prefer to map a key to the keyboard and thenuse the profiling SW of my stick to apply the settings to the stick)Should be "then use" ?? 3 - ViewsThat default file contains the settings for the default stick assignments that are initially displayed and the ones that the sim will default to when you press the Reset as default key in the controls menu. I have several pilots on my install but I have copied the same config file for all ofd them. Hands On Phase Three : Air to AirTry to make your hits count andremember to lead your target. Now you can practice your air to air gunnery. There seems to be an unnecessary break in the text unless you did it to accentuate the "remember to lead your target" line. When yo are ready to go to the next phase go back into the difficulty menu and turn on limited ammo and vulnerability and give all planes 40% fuel and try it a few more times before you go to Phase Four.yo = you ? Hands On Phase Four : Uping the Ante (Upping is misspelled)You can also give "Zeus Cat's Training Missions" a spin after you complete the NG.Unfortunately M4T does not save a search so you can't link to it. All you get when you link to a prior search that you made is the Search page for that downloads area. Here is a link to Zeus-Cat's personal download page and the "Straight from the Farm" campaign at M4T.Zeus-cat: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=search&sa=301 Straight From the Farm: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=2147 ***What to Back up***These two folders are easy to confuse but they have very different and distinct functions. To make this line less confusing I would change it to read the following. The Quick and Quicks folders are easy to confuse but they have very different and distinct functions. NGen - This is where your campaigns are This is where the information to generate a multiplayer campaign is stored. (I am not sure where the mission inofrmation is stored after you generate the campaign though.) Remove the first part of the sentence. Information is misspelled. (I think I might have misspelled it when I made the last post. oops.) Paint Schemes - This folder contains all your skins Default location: C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\RecordsRecords should be PaintSchemes Additonal InformationAircarft Guides at the M4T Database - I don't think this is linked to the right location since it takes you to the downloads page at M4T. I am not sure what you wanted so I can't provide an alternate link.Once you get more settled in check out some of the links below.IL2 Compare - This seems to be another search that did not save. IL-2 Compare: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=329 IL2 Compare for HSFX and 4.101: http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=4139 VAC - This link takes you to the main downloads page at M4T.Here is a link that takes you to the current VAC download page. There is also a link at the top of the page at this link that will take you to a forum for tech support that is still active as of Jan 2013. VAC Download - http://www.dwvac.com/download.html VAC Support Forum - http://www.dwvac.com/vac_phpBB3/index.php Sniper's Corner - This link takes you to the M4T downloads search page. Here is a link to a Knowledge Base article for Snipers Corner that has the links to the program. The download links in the KB article for Snipers Corner should allow the program to be downloaded without having to login to M4T. Sniper's Corner KB article - http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Knowledge_Base&op=show&kid=296 Gunnery - This link takes you to the main Knowledge Base page. Here is a link to the "Pilots Notes" section of the Knowledge Base at M4T that includes the section on Gunnery.Pilots Notes - http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Knowledge_Base&cat=42 ACMVIZ - This link takes you to the M4T downloads search page. ACMVIZ - http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=1780 Short for Air Comabt ManeuversVisualization - Misspelled Combat and ManeuversVisualization needs to be separated.Dart's Training Videos - Dart's Training Videos can be viewed on this YouTube channel also. All eleven of Dart's Training videos can be seen on YouTube at abadgaem's channel.IL-2 Sturmovik: Dart's Guides: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL23ABD7CBB962A977 Imo I don't think I would remove the link to Dart's page but I would consider adding the link to the youTube channel. Bearcat Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Thanks Brian.. some of that I meant to do.. but I have corrected the rest. One thing I have noticed with this forum SW.. if yo are goung to edit a link you have to first break the old link and then relink it with thenew one.. that is why my edits didnt take the first time.
