talvikko Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 I have a few general questions (because I haven't the game and the suitable computer yet, so i'm not able to check them myself) - before I will decide: to buy or not tu buy 1. Is possible to buy only one module and play the game? (Kuban, Moscow or Stalingrad) 2. Is there any "base" module required for the others? 3. Is there any "schedule" for another modules in the future? (I know that the Bodenplatte will be released soon, but I would like to know what should I expect for the near future. 4. The most important for me: Is the module for Finnish pilot planned? (with Finnish radio voices, and with the map o Finland) 5. Is planned the career for French Normendie Niemen pilot? (with French radio voices) 6. which nationalities with radio voices should I expect for the Bodenplatte modula? 7. If I will buy more than one module: is possible to merge the career by connect chronologically two or more modules into one long carrier? (If the pilot will "survive" of course) 8. The career in new Il2 is online (as in Rise of Flight) or offline (as in older Il2 1946)? 9. If I choose the pilot for the career it will be the pilot with the "history" created by the game (as in Rise of Flight) or empty data record (as in Il2 1946)? 10. Is there any career option with majority of bomber intercepting missions? 11. which module has the biggest quantity of playable missions?
Finkeren Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 1. Yes 2. No 3. Yes, next update will contain no new planes, but the next BoBP aircraft coming will be the P-47D-28 and Fw 190D9 as well as the Po-2 stand-alone aircraft. 4. No 5. No 6. German, British, US 7. Yes 8. As Rise of Flight 9. As Rise of Flight 10. No, but they are not uncommon missions 11. BoS. 1 1
InProgress Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 2. Yes if you want this game on steam. Then you need to buy stalingrad as main game. 1

I thought that was made clear in the last developer diary Edited September 17, 2018 by EpeeNoire spelling

I thought that was made clear in the last developer diary Oops, sorry. You’re right. Had forgot about that. For a long time it was assumed, that the P-47 and the D9 would be released together, because we were shown WIP shots of the two of them side-by-side. But yeah: the K4 and the P-47 are next.

I think I may have a few different answers than what's already been given so I'll try and help here too. 1. Yep, absolutely. Unless you're on Steam you can buy any of them and go from there. If you buy through Steam then you need to buy Stalingrad first. 2. No* (see above) 3. Bodenplatte is next along with simultaneous development of Flying Circus Vol 1 and Tank Crew Clash at Prokhorovka which are both compatible products. I'm trying to keep track of the rumours and release information from the devs here: https://stormbirds.blog/product-roadmaps/ 4. No there isn't, but a Finnish map team appears to be in the process of attempting to create a Karelia map which would be great to see if finished (I have hopes for these guys). 5. None that I know of. 6. UK and US 7. Yep absolutely. You can from theoretically from the Moscow 1941-42 to the Stalingrad 42-43 and then on to the Kuban 43 campaign 8. Similar to Rise of Flight 9. Same as RoF 10. I haven't really come across one like that yet. Even my defense of Moscow seems to mix bomber intercept, ground defense, and ground attack missions up. 11. I suppose its Battle of Stalingrad though the Career system generates a lot of missions and I feel like Battle of Kuban may be catching up quickly for player created content. senseispcc Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 (edited) Question answer; 10. the missions against bombers are of 2/3 types: a/ intercept bombers where you must try to find the bombers by going to them and they have a objective unknow to you. b/ positions defense where you must defend one or multiple points during a certain time against enemy planes (no Always bombers but sometimes yes) c/ the only solitaire mission in my knowledge; the intercept reconnaissance plane where it is really a sort of race against a High-altitude bomber (fast) and high that you must destroy starting from the ground. Is this really a mission against bombers?! Only option b can sometime be over enemy territory. Have fun and the longest campaign is in my opinion in Battle for Moscow for October 1941 to the 20 April 1942 with nearly 2 missions a day. Nearly 220 missions I am at 5 days to finish it.
