T34 Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 Yep, here we go again, some new guy that needs to be spoon fed. I am used to the old flying shoot em up wargames where the planes jerk all around the sky when any form of control movement was transmitted to the plane. NOW the planes flying characteristics of IL*2 seem to mimic the real mccoy, smooth and deliberate. I don't know how smooth the person is controlling the sticks but they sure do look amazing. I don't want to reinvent the wheel because I am sure all software/hardware to fly IL*2 has been used and tested and the best has floated to the top of the heap. I have not purchased any software/hardware YET to get me into the skies of IL*2 so I would appreciate any advice from the war veterans. My first buy needs to be a gaming computer that can easily handle the requirements of flying the plane with room to spare, any suggestions? I do see the minimum system requirements listed on this web page, Thanx T34

JonRedcorn Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 I can offer advice on what parts to buy to build a computer, I do not know anything about pre built pc's and who makes good ones.
=EXPEND=Dendro Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 Room to spare.... mmmmm ..... take it cash is not an issue?? I7 CPU (latest) 16gb ram minimum 250GB SSD - game must run off this. GTX 1080 or TI (no compromise here) Decent Gaming Motherboard High power PSU 32 Inch monitor/or VR goggles Almost more importantly- get decent flight controllers 1. VKB gunfighter MCG joystick or Virpil Mongoose (400 Euro) 2. VKB rudder pedals or MFG crosswind pedals (400 Euro) 3. Throttle system - Not essential but good to have (400 Euro) new ones coming "soon" from VIRPIL and VKB (300-400 Euro) 4. Track IR or Delanclip or VR goggle (150 Euro) This setup will leave you good for a few years. THe controllers should last about 10 years plus if you look after them.
