=LG/A=LeNs Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Does anyone of you Il2 pilots have a new version of X56? On redit there are small reviewes from space simers and they told that build quailty is better then old X56(blue). I wondering how it will work in Il2? Here is a link to new Black model: https://www.logitechg.com/en-roeu/products/space/x56-space-flight-vr-simulator-controller.html
DaveP63 Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 I have one, but I have yet to use it much (time constraints). It is the new model and seems to have corrected a majority of the faults with the previous model. Works fine, IMO.

Ministicks that are constantly off centre about 10% no matter how you calibrate?

Any joystick brand work with IL-2 or another game made for use joystick's. ? Of course, some stick features like "slew"/mini-stick has little use in games for WW planes, this is more useful for jet RADAR/targeting control, 6DOF in space games. Although Logitech advertise that X-56 "black" has better build quality than X-56 "Blue", some users in Reddit, DCS... still facing the "traditional" Saitek QC. Still those spikey pots in there? Yes, X-56 twist rudder, mini-stick, throttle, rotaries axis still using low cost potentiometer. X and Y axes use HALL sensor - seem the same used in Warthog (Melexis 3D). I can not agree with that If joystick works in every game, this is normal. But not every joystick is fully compatible with specific game. For example warthog throttle is not fully compatibile with Il2 becose of specyfic work of "metal" switches on dashbord. IL2 only recognize a "click" buttons, it not recognize pozition of buttons, so warthog throttle is only in 1/2 compatibile. Back to X56 - I wonder if there is possible to bind a coolers for a "Throttle Rotaries with inset buttons"? Can you confirm that? I want to bind water cooler and oil coolers to this two rotary buttons, and when I rotary back cooler close when rotary forward - cooler opens. In middle of roatary the coooler will be open for 50%.

By that logic, VPC T-50 throttle - latching toggle switches*, CH PRO Throttle and X-56 throttle - analog mini-stick are too only "1/2 compatible" because has no native support in game for the highlighted features. Of course all this controls types are used by many people (in IL-2:GB) through manufacturer or 3rd part keypress emulation software (Target, Manager, SST, Joystick Gremlin, Joy2key, Xpadder...). * Only DCS World support Warthog throttle "latching toggle switches" in their code and basically for A-10C, several other planes require edit LUA files for add function in OFF state of command or use manufacturer keyboard emulation software - same required in IL-2:GB. 40plus Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 Hmm, I wonder if they have resolved the ghost click problem. I'm getting pretty tired of my pilot randomly bailing out.
SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 These where issues with the wiring in the old x55 builds, and is precisely what they fixed, if we can believe Logitech. I fixed it myself by resoldering the left throttke's wiring in x55 throttle, and by plugging it into a USB 3 controller. I decided to keep the unit until Vpc releases their throttle with ministick. And if they don't by the time SC comes out (in 12 years haha), I'll get the new X56 just for the throttle's ministick
