Problems processing uploaded images

There doesn't seem to be anywhere else that this can be posted: over the last few days, I have tried uploading jpg images to various posts, only to get the message:

I have searched all over the internet to see if there's something I can do to fix the problem, and have found several sites where this has also happened: AFAIK, there is nothing I can do, because it seems to be a problem with the website, not the user.

Works for me.

In the lower left of the comment box there is a paper clip icon that directs you to either drag an image from your desktop or 'choose files' from your files. If the image you are looking for is in a folder double click the folder to open it and select the one you want. Single click on it to select it. Check OK and the image should appear in a box asking you to name it or post as is. Accept that and the image should appear in your comment.
