Newbie: limit VR view doesn't seem to be working

Hi all,

 

I set up il2 Bos this week for my Oculus rift and I'm pretty excited. When I first started the game the"limit VR option" worked flawlessly. When to close to the canopy the eyepoint just moved so I couldn't take my head outside the plane. I like to look outside of the plane and also be able to get close to the instrument panel to have a clearer view!

This doesn't work anymore however. No matter if the "limit VR option"  is ticked or not in game.

 

Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I want to stick my head outside of the plane!

If you are choosing expert settings it won't let you. Make sure to enable outside views in the difficulty settings.

Why doesn't it let me choose that setting in expert mode?

 

I want the most realistic plane settings and that's why I chose expert. Does that make sense?

IIRC...

In single player:

• Do you want a limited view?
  • If so, then expert settings are fine
• Do you want the view to not be limited to the cockpit?
  • If so, then use normal settings, or custom settings 

In multiplayer:

• The server settings AND the 'limit vr view' determine limited view or not
  • NOTE: Server settings always proceed user's settings
    • If the server has no limit view but you have limit view, then your view is limited
    • if the server has limit view and you have no limited view, then your view is still limited

Enabling that outside view setting won't effect the difficulty in any way it will just change it to custom, just enable that setting and don't worry about it.

It does make sense but 1C have different opinion. Actually it was even worse when the VR was implemented. Bf109 cabin limits were so small you would hit an invisible wall when turning your head. Fortunately they fixed it after many complaints. If you planning to join online anytime soon better leave this option ON, most servers have it enabled and you won't be able to change it.
