I have an issue that I only encounter in the career mode for the stuka:

1) The rudder pedals appear to have a mind of their own. I disabled any other joysticks and made sure my flight joystick isn't faulty. The rudder seems to operate on its own, and it makes flying the stuka a very frustrating thing to do. This doesn't happen outside of career mode (say, in quick mission).

2) The AI seem to be giving it full beans all the way to the target and I always end up lagging behind. Might be I'm missing something here, but to me they seem to not go below climb engine settings.

3) In a recent mission to destroy a bridge, once the AI approached the target (I had a good view of them since I was trying to catch up, see #2), rather than divebomb the bridge they just turned around and went back to base without doing anything. Also, once the mission ended (I ended it prematurely after destroying the bridge myself, because I was kind of fed up and the AI was nowhere in sight anymore), I saw on the report that they have all been captured (???).

That's all. Please, I need someone to tell me once and for all that these are issues with the game and not just me missing something or doing something wrong. Especially the AI speed and the autonomous rudder pedals.

1) sounds like you are playing on normal. Set it to expert. Sounds like rudder assist is on or something.

2) These reports are interesting because if any of us make a mission the AI is SLOW... it would be nice to get the magic formula to make AI go faster. I don't understand that.

3) Stuka attacks have their own set of AI problems right now. That being said, with your specific example I have the suspicion that as soon as the bridge was attacked the "mission objective" was complete and that fired the RTB sequence, thus all your Stuka bro's were like "hey we're done, even though we have our bombs". This is just lazy mission logic design honestly.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the AI has many serious issues...

I just checked the realism settings again. Rudder assist is off as it has always been. Only thing on there is autopilot.

Regarding the AI speed, maybe they're much faster than me because I have to fight against my rudder all the time, thus losing speed.
