Freycinet Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Simmer 1: MOTION BLUR, I HATE IT!! IT'S TERRIBLE!! YOU'RE TOTALLY RUINING THIS SIM!!! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING, AAAARGH!!! Simmer 2: Eh, it can be turned off. Simmer 1: Ah, ok... - All-right then. 2
VBF-12_Snake9 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I haven't tried it yet, but it should have come "turned off" by default. I don't know many people that want a fuzzy picture. 3
LLv34_Flanker Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 (edited) S! Freycinet, the thing is that they can add all the doodahs and whatever bojongles to the graphics, but could make them optional and OFF by default. I bet that over 90% simmers do not give a rat's bum about SSAO or Motion Blur or excessive HDR/Bloom or other post processing things in a simulator. This is not a FPS or RTS or whatever, but a sim. All we need are CRISP graphics. No gimmicks that could degrade performance. Edited January 31, 2014 by LLv34_Flanker 3
Emgy Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 (edited) What game comes with all bells and whistles turned off by default? Arma 3, BF4, Crysis etc have them on by default. But I expect the motion blur option will be easier to find when the game is 100%. Edited January 31, 2014 by Calvamos

ATAG_Slipstream Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 (edited) Poor thread, and not exactly helpful. Not everything the devs do is going to be perfect for everyone Freycinet. Edited January 31, 2014 by LG1.Oster
JtD Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 "We have added a motion blur effect. It can be turned on and off with the cinematic camera setting. Please try it out and tell us what you think." This line in the development update would have been useful. 3

Simmer 2: Eh, it can be turned off. Simmer 1: Ah, ok... - All-right then. Actually you got it all wrong. It wasn't simmer#2 that answered, but the chief developer. Yes, it can be turned off by disabling external view cinematic effects. It obviously turns all of them off. Not really a problem for me, but I remember, when cinematic effects were introduced in ROF, a lot of people liked them, specially movie makers. Well, now all those are bundled together with the motion blur (in both external view and in cockpit view). You hate motion blur, you loose all cinematic effects. Go ahead, ridicule anyone who questions developer's decisions and we'll end up with a game we don't really like, because we were too big pu$$ies to tell them we don't like certain things.... Most people complain because they want this game to be good. You are not helping the development team when you try to muzzle down anyone that may not like certain things. dburne Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I am sure the developers appreciate any feedback they get, whether positive, neutral, or negative... all done in a constructive manner of course.
Jaws2002 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 (edited) Here posted by Loft: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/3942-early-access-week-10/?do=findComment&comment=82860 Posted Today, 16:46 Will this also disable the slight back and forth camera movement in external view? (Can't check for myself unfortunately so thanks in advance to anyone who can tell me) For now, yes camera movement also will be disabled. But we just testing effect itself not implementation on GUI or gameplay. We looking and listening. After tech test we can do the best implementation. This is how games developing and tests testing "looking and listening" got it? How will they know if we like it or not if we don't tell them, or are being chased around and harassed every time we say we don't like something? Edited January 31, 2014 by Jaws2002
