Lol, first time multiplayer

Ok, So I just quit my first attempt at multiplayer. It went fantastic... not

Wings of liberty server.

 

So I chose bf 109 G2, because of all the nice automations on that bird, I'm far from ready for engine management in combat (or not at all really…)

I also Chose 50 fuel, ant got rolling. I also haven't really learned any advanced navigation skills yet... So no fancy maneuverings from me, just fly

in a nice straight and "safe" line in Eastward direction, so I at least have a small chance of finding a place to land on my.... return trip. 

 

And yes... I'm also in VR. 

 

I climb to about 4000 meters, and slowly turn lacily from side to side and enjoy the view. But after a short time I notice my fuel are down to less then a quarter, does the 109 use this much fuel? Maybe, or maybe I have done something wrong in my loadout...  So I turn around and decide to rtb. Then far below I spot a lone plane going fast and low North-West. I dive towards him, nice and fast. Pretty proud of myself that I don't overshoot him. But he has eyes in the neck, or mirror, so then he possible are an enemy (because of the mirror, has any axis planes mirror?). So he turns around in a nice slow turn that almost reminds me of my AI friends. I iD him as a Yak (I think...) I'm not really a good dogfighter, but I managed to get a really nice fire solution on him. And I press the trigger in a big grin, and then... nothing! So I did do something wrong with my loadout. Or did I? might the guns Jam because of the 700 km+ dive speed and G pull? Are that modeled in the game?

 

So I try a "smart" run for my life tactic, unfortunately enemy bullets outsmarted my 109, and everything ended in fiasco

 

But it was fun nevertheless

 

Also. I tried to join TeamSpeak but for some reason, I couldn't hear anyone talking (yes I joined axis channel and I could se people speaking, but not hearing anything) Not Shure what that was all about, any tips on that?

Seems like you experienced the gun bug. Happens to 109s for some reason. You just won't have any ammo. I've personally never once experienced this and have flown axis planes quite a bit but I know it is real since it happens so darn often.

regarding fuel, the gauge will appear to move fastest between 200 and 300 litres. Your last 100 litres represents a tiny fraction of the fuel gauge but is actually around a quarter tank.

 

I've also experienced the unable to fire bug frequently, but only on wings of liberty, and i think always in a 109g2

Do this bug happen imidetly when you start? So If the guns dont work, you can restart? Or do it happen randomly inflight?

Take more fuel.... you will run out quickly with 50% fuel in the 109, at least in this game. I usually take 85-90% in TAW and always 100% in Wings of Liberty if flying a fighter. The gun jam bug is notorious in Wings of Liberty, just pop off a quick round when you startup to make sure you have ammo. The worst thing is making the perfect dive on a unwary red, and finding out you have no ammo when you squeeze the trigger.... it sucks, I feel your pain lol

It will occur right as you spawn in.

The gun bug happens on something like 75 % of my and my friends' starts in wol. And only on that server. It doesnt help that ammo counters show full. Its BS.

Something with the ammo preset switching to "empty" due a bug, probably. Could be an error in server's config files.

Like I said something must be up maybe on both server side and client, I've really honest to god never had the bug once. I play on wings every single day, just tonight I flew the 109's for about 2 hours. Check your internet settings in the options, make sure you set the connection slider all the way up, I am not saying this will fix it but it's worth a try.

Gun bug happened to me as well except in a 190 A5 in WoL. Of course it was right as I had a yak nice and lined up, not knowing I was there. Fortunately I had enough smash to blow by him and keep him from lining me up. Very frustating, but yes a quick gun test on the ground is in order now.

When this problem occurs, if you look very carefully at the ammo counters, they'll look weird. That's how you can tell.

 

Or, you can just not play on wings of potato.

It's not just WOL. The devs really should have sorted out this critical bug by now.

I play on a few different servers, only noticed it on WoL so far.

Definitely don't take 50% fuel on a 109 unless you're scrambling. It has barely 1 hour of fuel at nominal power, which means that you'll suck it up very fast if you fly at full power on the G2.

Nobody has connection issues, its a serverside bug of some kind. I've had it twice in 190 too and others constantly have it with the 110.

Had it on TAW too so it’s def not just a WoL thing.

Yes it does and you can tell right from take off whether you have it. You have to look at the circles above the ammo bars. When they are all black you have the gun bug.
