Live-streaming CLOD BLITZ....?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Folks. I hope this post is in an appropriate place...???

Using XSplit Gamecaster, I regularly live-stream War Thunder perfectly well. I recently purchased IL2 CLOD BLITZ & I'd like to stream it - but tho' Gamecaster will stream the static screens it only streams sound and a black screen when I get into flight in IL2 Blitz....

Can anyone offer advice on what I need to do to live-stream it (or confirm/explain to me that it simply won't work....)?

An example of the results of my attempting to stream is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCOkiLUPyLw

Skip to about the 00:04:45 mark... - about a couple of minutes will show what's happening when I try to live-stream.

If this post is in the wrong place, I give up..... :(

In the Options, Video, try and change the Full Screen, to ... something else. Might work, not sure.

Thx DD-FT- for suggestion.

I've already set it from 'Full Screen' to 'Pseudo'. I needed to do this anyway so that I can access my 2nd monitor with my mouse, for other things, while in IL2 (but even with 'Pseudo', I still have to hit Esc from the mission to access 2nd mon if I've already hit 'FLY'...).

Hm. Too bad.

In theory, there must be some setting one can change, to make it work.

But, which? ...

Yeah. It seems that the 'Pseudo' setting was actually causing the issue, & setting it back to Full Screen enabled streaming - so the suggestion by DD-FT- pushed me in the right direction.

I had it set to Pseudo 'cos it seemed I couldn't get to my other monitor with my mouse - but I now think I was mistaken about that in the confusion of just being totally new to IL2. With Full Screen set I can in fact still access the other mon - tho' once I hit the FLY button I have to hit Esc to get to the other mon, & then it all falls over - can't click menu items & have to re-start IL2......

Thx.

If XSplit Gamecaster is causing issues you could try using OBS Studio? I know one guy who uses it for streaming all sorts of combat flight sims and it looks like it works well. Interface is very in-depth and customisable as well, I use it for recording videos and it certainly does the job. https://obsproject.com/

These threads might help with the 'no-click' issue:

OK. So I managed to live-stream (albeit a bit stuttery....).
...but there are other issues...

  • I've set a PTT button on my throttle for talking over the stream - but it's pretty choppy. (Same stream commentary setup in War Thunder - & it works fine).
  • When I clicked onto my other monitor, then returned to the IL2 mission, various controller functionalities had been lost. After a while I tried clicking onto my 2nd monitor again briefly & when I then returned to the mission all functionality had returned....??

Below are 2 links the my most recent results.

Flight, & landing at North Weald, UK. (Starts 0:04:00, then at 0:09:50 - Landing at North Weald UK - Hey - I'm very new to IL2......)

(1st voice test, at about 0:04:25, is rather lower in volume, compared to game sound)

Sorry about the massive vid links.... ?

I then taxied for a take-off (but gear BROKE before I rolled - prob damaged on landing...?).
