Jackrabbit710 Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Hi, first post! Ive just preordered a 2080Ti and was wondering if we would eventually see the new features find their way into iL2? the DLSS antialiasing looks especially interesting as it is extremely efficient way of antialiasing. Would be a great help for VR/4K..
SharpeXB Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 Yes the features like Ray Tracing look really incredible. 1

BlackMambaMowTin Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Have devs commented on DLSS? Is it hard to support? It would be great for VR players.

Nvidia has said DLSS support will come from driver updates on their end, because they need to train the algorithm on a per game basis. I would guess that you may be able to rename the games executable to "trick" the nvidia driver into running DLSS even if they dont support the game.

I don't like the sound of it... It feels like they will be scanning usual frame paths in a game and make something like dictionary of settings per pixel block for some kind of post-filtering. Try something unusual and it could artifact. I'd prefer a dynamically changing resolution in a driver (or a frame interlacing) than that... There is no way around the sampling theory - you need more samples to decrease aliasing. Otherwise, there will be blurring and weird stuff no matter how clever one may be. The carefully selected pictures and demo videos aren't trustworthy to make an assessment. Edited September 24, 2018 by Ehret
