Simple question;  Do they matter for IL2 VR and if so, what is good enough for enjoyment and no motion sickness?   (Oculus Rift maybe soon or even next gen.)

I got 12,044 frames and a 10.8 quality.

FYI that’s from a i5 6600k traveling at 3.5 GHz, 16gb DDR4 3200Mhz, GTX was 1070.

Thanks,

You will be fine for a Rift.

Would be even better if you overclock that 6600k to over 4 Ghz.

You absolutely need to OC that i5. I have exactly the same specs as you (32gb RAM, big deal), and have gotten that CPU to 4.2 comfortably on an H60 cooler. Makes a big difference.

Performance was fine on the Rift with my system. It just wasn't for me, ended up returning it and going back to monitor and TIR.

So how many frames is a reasonable minimum for IL2 on SteamVR performance test?   Just curious and guessing some later readers will be too.

Roger that on overclocking- I’m able to turn up to 4.5 GHz and hold 56C at 100% cpu load.   (Corsair h100.)   I’ll check steamVR stats with that and post.

I have not run this test but I will be curious to know how these numbers correlate with the performance we achieve with IL-2 VR.

I don´t know but perhaps this SteamVR test is not as dependent on single-thread performance as IL-2 VR is.

FYI, we have created a performance test in IL-2, you can follow the instructions to run the test and share with us your results and compare with your rig peers:
