Im a new player with some questions

Hello all, I recently got into IL2 and just bought Battle of Bodensomething. I know it is in early access but I'm afraid I'm missing something. So I have some questions: Is there a mission editor currently? If not is it currently under development? Also how many planes and which ones from the advertised product are currently released? The game looks the same from when I didnt have Battle of Bodensomething to when I did, I was expecting a bunch of different features like :

  •  2 Collector Planes (P-38J and Fw 190 D-9)
  •  8 Battle of Bodenplatte Aircraft (P-51D, P-47D, Spitfire Mk.IX, Tempest Mk.V, Bf 109 G-14, Bf 109 K-4, Fw 190 A-8 and Me 262)
  •  Western European Map (Belgium, Netherlands, Germany)
  •  Battle of Bodenplatte Pilot Career
  •  Quick Mission Builder
  •  Custom Single-Player Missions
  •  Scripted Campaign Support
  •  Multiplayer Mode (Cooperative and Dedicated Server)

Basically, what is available now(Battle of Bodensomething) and how do I access it? And how long do these things usually take to get out of early access and be complete? Thanks.

Is Bodenplatte the only module you own at this time?

Hi pegg,

Battle of boddenplatte is in very early access. content is being released as it becomes available, three aircraft are currently available. The spit ix, the bf109 g14, and the fw190 a8

Edit: you can fly these birds on some mp servers, and also in the QMB

What about this "quick mission builder"? How do I access it?

Also what module would you guys recommend I should buy for starting out if I already have Kuban and Bodensomething? Btw I'm a veteran DCS player so Im not new to simming but IL2 is VERY new to me.

yes, so when you click on it you can choose a map, then select single ac on the map for free flight, two ac for a duel, or 6 ac for a flight v flight.

I like to do two flights of 4 friendlies vs two flights of 4 enemies with 2k airstart face to face, for some instant VR gratification. Or free flight, start from parked,  if I'm just getting used to the bird.

If you've spent a little time playing BoK and you think its something you are going to enjoy, then you should buy both BoM and BoS as well to give you the most choice in MP. Single player careers are good too. At least I enjoy them.

Okay I get it so the "quick mission builder" is just the "quick mission" option on the main menu.. correct?

There is a Mission Editor as well, which works with any map that you own - in your case I suppose just Kuban until the NW Europe map comes out in a few months.  It is in your game folder bin/editor as a separate STEditor.exe : but it is hard to use so you are best off sticking to the QMB to start with.

If people on the forum talk about the ME they are talking about STEditor,  QMB they are talking about Quick Mission where you can stage dogfights and ground attack.

"Bodensomething"

Honestly, it takes more time to write up your post then to google all of your questions. Although you do bring a point with not having any information on the store page about currently available aircraft for bodenplatte. It just says " Early Access program - fly these planes as soon as they are ready! "

Battle of Bodenplatte is not released yet. The developers have however decided to release some of the material, which is already prepared and which is compatible with the game environment and previously released titles, for us to enjoy and get a taste of the upcoming title.

If you pre-purchased Battle of Bodenplatte, you should be able to see and fly the Fw 190 A8, Bf 109 G14 and Spit MkIX. The rest of the planes, which you listed above, havent' been released yet, and we don't know whether they will all come in the final release of the title, or perhaps the devs will release a couple more before that, just like these early three birds.
