senseispcc Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Campaign Strangeness’s. I am at the 9/10 of the Moscow Campaign and now I notice some strange things: 1/ if you are forced to parachute, land or ditch you plane in friendly territory during a mission way until the mission ends and many times it is a success even if you did not return at your base. 2/ if you terminate a mission not successful before all the planes of your squadron are landed they are destroyed even if the pilots are not. 3/ In the Moscow Campaign there are no night, early or dusk missions. the earliest missions is 08.04 and the latest is 15.05. In Mig-3 squadron, I do not know for any other planes. 4/ 1 in 3 mission there are no enemies in the air in range of the mig's (even in escort missions). 5/ Even if you are not squadron leader or second in command 9 on 10 missions at a certain grade (captain or major) you shall lead the missions.

Finkeren Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Yeah, anything except number 2 seems perfectly logical. If I am forced to ditch or return to base, I always let the mission play out to avoid mission failure and losing the rest of the flight.
Blitzen Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Same sort of thing in the Kuban .No night missions but there are morning or dusk missions. One thing that I wish for :anti-ship missions for Stukas & Ju-88’s ( or Pe-2’s for that matter,) off the Kuban Coast. I’d like the same thing to happen over the Volga in front of Stalingrad.
PatrickAWlson Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 I could see night missions for bombers and transport. What other types of historically accurate night missions would be flown?
DD_Perfesser Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Any time you want to catch the enemy at dawn you'll be taking off in the dark - bombing airfields with their planes still on the ground, dropping troops. Landing in dark - dusk over the enemy to prevent them taking off in pursuit - leaflet drops, recon, bombing raids for slower planes. At least half the mission could be in the dark.

It was actually stationed at Bagerovo as the career depicts too. 2 hours ago, Blitzen said: I’d like the same thing to happen over the Volga in front of Stalingrad. We need unarmed (maybe a guy with a ppsh lol) smaller vessels full of troops and supplies, tugboats, civilian ships ect.

Yeah.. i am a bit disappointed with Stalingrad, river is empty.. there is no boats, destroyed equipment, camps etc. And nothing is on that river, no ships are crossing from one shore to another. I hope it will get some work one day.
Godspeed Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 (edited) On Escort Mission do nothing and see that AI cant even shoot down bombers you are protecting. They lose all planes and by luck they might get one kill against He 111. Also watch when bombers are on target and see that leader drops bombs rest bring them back home. So the problem again lies with formation not being good enough.

Even in my missions new and old, half the time they do not drop, or miss target by very far... I made a detailed bug report and reproduced 2 distinct issues with Stuka dives. I have Stuka and 111 campaigns on hold until AI is fixed and or improved. 1
senseispcc Posted August 23, 2018 Author Posted August 23, 2018 (edited) Thanks for the answers. In the future, we can always hope for some ameliorations, if possible. In this games series it is always possible. I have nearly finished the Moscow campaign and enjoy it very much, Thanks. Edited August 23, 2018 by senseispcc
