Uufflakke Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 BEST POST SO FAR IN ANY THREAD EVAR!!! Really funny indeed! Here is another great one: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/2102-post-your-screenshots-vids-here/?p=51394
Trident_109 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 (edited) Can anyone address the issues that I am having now? Flew the plane without following correct procedures. - The virtual HuD is not working. - I don't know how to read the speedometer gauge if it's located at second from the top left (altmeter, manifold pressure, temperatures etc all fine). Yes I flew the plane without actually knowing the speed and thus landed with excess speed. - There isn't a lever or any indicator to show if the flaps are fully deployed or retracted cos they're hidden from pilot view at bottom. Need to use ext cams F2-F4 which is similar to DCS. HUD: Go to SETTINGS/FLIGHT INTERFACE. Select the drop down arrow for instrument panel and choose FULL. SPEEDOMETER is second from right, top and is measured in tens - so 10 would be 100KMPH. 150 would be 150 KMPH. 20 would be 200KMPH and so on. Try turning on instrument lights to make it easier to see the dials. It helped me. I'm not sure if you saw it or not or just don't recognize what the dial is, but the FLAP dial is om the left hand side about 8 o'clock position from the dial with the orange center. It's not easy to see, but you should be able to make out the needle enough to gt an estimate on your flaps. Straight down is 30 degrees and to the far right is 60 degrees of flap. Again instrument lights ON will help. Have you bound forward and back head movement? It helps to get closer to the dials when trying to read them. Edited November 20, 2013 by Robert 1
Picchio Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 (edited) did anyone else see the artillery & flak? North-east, uh? I'm gonna go find them ASAP! Have you tried to fly into them? (I'm thinking of those simulated detonations from ROF... so awesome!) Edited November 20, 2013 by Picchio
TheCheese Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 First video, just me oggling at night-time in general Second video, the night flight completed with a rather nice landing if I do say so myself. (Thanks for the advice, HeavyCavalrSgt!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2s27JDRshQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HGivhPsBw4
J4SCrisZeri Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Hello MysticPuma, long time no see (I remember your vids with CLoD and WoP) I notice you all have my same issue: when hitting F3 for a flyby camera, the game is not perfectly fluid, it stumbles in occasional yet annying microfreezes
Creepermoss Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 And now we know why it's called "ghost riding the plane". This image made me laugh, +1 for you.
Picchio Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 (edited) What time was it in those shots, Furbs? Edited November 20, 2013 by Picchio
Wolger Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 HUD: Go to SETTINGS/FLIGHT INTERFACE. Select the drop down arrow for instrument panel and choose FULL. Now I know where the Flaps dial is thanks to SYN_Requiem's post at http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/2220-labeled-lagg-3-cockpit/ . For the HUD, I'd already set it to FULL. The in-game menu is very simple.which is good. Can see from my video the HUD did not display anything. Anyhow I can rely on HUD-less cockpit, doing fine with DCS P-51D. It would be nice if BoS can force 100% realism on the multiplayer server setting like there shouldn't be HUD at all. Yea, another point I forgot to raise is zoom out/in head movement, I's actually tried to map it to one of my sliders on my throttle like what I did in WT or DCS but it didn't work. Sliders is much faster than digitized input of button/key presses which is vital in combat situation. I'll try to explore again.

FuriousMeow Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 - The virtual HuD is not working. The values do not display in Expert mode.
J4SCrisZeri Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 I must try this 16x trick to see sunset/dusk/dawn whatever

How can you set the time? thank you Yes I want that too! On 11/19/2013 at 11:21 AM, TetraD said: I just selected mission 02 then sped up time 16x and waited some time. Ability to set time would be nice, dusk/dawn is my favourite part of day. So simple & yet it eluded me.... The flares on the night mission are cool! Perhaps we could just do a thread on "Crash" Screenies...there are going to be a lot of them! & some that are better left forgotten:
EAF_Paf Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Tried to test the maximum speed on the deck and chased the river with 495 Km/h. Well, in an unmindful moment my belly touched the ice and my plane was rapidly thrown up again. Too much forces for my plane and pilot 1
LordNeuro*Srb* Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Same more from me. It is hard to land the Lagg, but luckuly we have time to practice until the relise of the game I dont know but iven on my crapy old pc the bos is looking wery good.
J4SCrisZeri Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 By the way, since we're tali ng crashes: I take fires and explosions are absolutely alpha at the moment, correct? I've caused a few and they look very simple and coarse.
Jason_Williams Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Special effects are not ready yet. Jason
Gunsmith86 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Some from me: Some more: And the normal landing at the beginning:
Jupp Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Reposting this here from a thread I started over there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEuZRAV1SFU

FTC_Karaya Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 A personal review of this very first pre access demo including three flights, one starting on the runway, one from the "box" and one at night time 1
=BKHZ=Furbs Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Ian, looking at your shots, it looks to me you have that grainy affect in the cockpit right? You know you can get rid of it?
AndyJWest Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Abysmal quality, but here's a quick one of me doing the night transfer mission. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdpE3Q3U0EE&feature=youtu.be
TheCheese Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Landed on the frozen river successfully, huzzah http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRBJWqkhzj8
71st_AH_Hooves Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Did anyone check out or get screenshots of that steam/vapor when over heating the motor? It looked fricken AMAZING. Now imagine at think black oily smoke and it trailing on and on behind a doomed aircraft. Holy crap.. Thats going to be awesome!
Fifi Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 If you ever get only 1 gear light on...bad things will happen soon or later (Clic on it to enlarge pict as i see it on my screen) Something is missing after touch and go: Crossed wind wasn't enough challenge And result was obvious...
Bearcat Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Nightime Convoy Orion Moonlit Night This is just incredible.. The stars are the most accurate I have ever seen in a sim...
