Battle of Bodenplatte Spitfire throttle question

I just getting started with IL2 coming over from DCS and am having an issue with my warthog throttle with the Spit.  I did a bunch of searches but couldn't find anything I'm sure it just setting I'm missing.  Here is what it's doing when on the ground before I start up I run the throttle through it entire range and it works properly in the A/C taxing out to the runway I can close the throttle to idle like should.  After take off and flying around a while I go to land and I cannot reduce my throttle below 33% so I can't slow down enough to land any ideas on what might be causing this?  Also is the Engine RPM and throttle locked together on this A/C?

Thanks!!

No they're not. I'd hazard a guess you'v got one of auto-helpers turned on in realism-related game options. They're known to be causing various weird throttle issues in some of the airplanes, maybe the Spit is one of them as well.

Ok I didn't think so, I've been trying to find the Auto-helpers but haven found any menu for realism related game options.  I wonder if I screwed up the install?

I have had this on cold maps. The throttle will not go to zero so I have to turn off the engine to land. I thought at first it was over cooling but it seems like it may be a bug.

I haven't noticed this, but not sure if I have flown the spit v this build. I use default expert settings with rpm set to 2600 for max continuous. Its weird that you can idle on the ground but not in the air.

Do you adjust the fuel mixture at all ? I don't think I ever have, but wondered if something like this could be the issue ?

I had the same problem..

When you’re starting go to realism options and AUTO ENGINE CONTROL is off in the game options before you start (expert mode turns it off automatically).

Set RPM to 100% and throttle to.. eh, 15-20ish?

I couldn’t land the Spitfire at all before I did this. I had to bind RPM control to an axis (thankfully I have a split throttle) to manage it.

R3,

I found this last night being new to the game it took me a bit to find these settings.  I also have a split throttle so I have a rpm axis I setup the custom mode without the engine management stuff and every things is good now.  Until I get used to the game I'm going to leave some of the help stuff turned on.  Now that I've got it working it's pretty impressive!  Looking forward to getting some flying hours logged love the flight model!  Thanks for help!
