taffy2jeffmorgan Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 Hi All, I am tempted to purchase both early access's , Tank Crew and Flying Circus, if i do, is there a bonus of having two new tanks and two biplanes to play with . Cheers
ShamrockOneFive Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 It's very early days on Flying Circus but if you're interested in the subject it's already a lot of fun to fly the SPAD and Dr.I around the countryside. I did a reaction and first impressions piece on Flying Circus on the blog so read that if it helps you make your decision. https://stormbirds.blog/2018/08/05/first-impressions-of-early-access-flying-circus/ 1
danielprates Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 I bought both on day one to support the development, which is good enough reason. But I'll say, its not half bad. All new games take some getting used to. I mean, the key bindings alone, ach! So it is proving to be a good trial for when the real thing comes along. Learning to fly the Dr1 in solo flights is challenge enough! 1

I don't think Bodenplatte will be finished in early 2019. If we expand out a little... We have 3 of 10 aircraft released Late August - P-47 (Aircraft #4) Late September - Aircraft #5 Late October - Aircraft #6 Late November - Aircraft #7 Late December - Aircraft #8 Late January - Map? Late February - Aircraft #9 March or April - Aircraft #10 (Me262 is last... may take the longest) That's assuming about 4 weeks between releases. That didn't 100% happen with Kuban... so it could be more like May 2019 when it releases. It's also assuming that Bodenplatte development is not at all affected by the other two titles. I think they may all finish up sometime by the end of Q2 2019 or maybe early into Q3? I write that and think it may still be optimistic. We'll be most of the way there on all three titles by Spring 2019 I think.

Is that roughly when it will be out? I was wondering this week if there were any estimates no matter how vague. 1 minute ago, ShamrockOneFive said: I don't think Bodenplatte will be finished in early 2019. If we expand out a little... This time around it should be easier to adapt the campaign to an existing template even though there is still a lot of work and research involved.

Yeah that definitely consumed a lot of time which I don't think will be needed this time. There are other systems and particularly the work to make the Me262 and the higher mach values work in the flight model that may take up more time although they nailed gyro gunsights much more quickly than I expected and they are tackling the P-47s turbocharger fairly early in too so maybe my estimates are off. I have a feeling it will still be Spring 2019 sometime and that Flying Circus and Tank Crew will be fairly well evolved by then as well.

Don't panic, Bodenplatte will be my first choice !!!!!

catchthefoxes Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 if I think about it really hard the release isn't that far off.
