Linking accounts and purchasing.

I have sent a ticket to support but not received an answer yet. I have been trying to link my Steam and IL2 accounts but keep getting a #4 email or password not correct error.

I have only one email and I know my passwords and double checked everything but cannot link the accounts.

I bought BOS,BOM,BOK and planes through Steam. I want to buy Tank Crew through the IL2 site's store.

If I do, will it be available through my Steam account if they are not linked? Will I be able to start my game through Steam and have Tank Crew?

Please someone? I would like to buy Tank Crew Early Access not only for me but to support the dev's by purchasing early. Can someone please tell me.....

1 , how to fix the #4 error about incorrect email or password when I know they are correct

2, if I don't have the accounts linked, can I still buy Tank Crew Early Access and be able to access it through my Steam account?

Steam Linkage Step By Step Guide

Thank you for the reply Thad. I have run the game through the " play " button on the Steam site. I tried to link the accounts but still get the wrong email or incorrect password error.

Could you please tell me if I don't link the accounts, will I be able to still access the Tank Crew content through Steam without linking the accounts?

Posted (edited)

Can you log onto your account on the main IL2 site? You will need your official e-mail and password. The step by step guide should be all you need.

I don't use Steam for any of my game modules so I can only point you to what the developers have given.

Somebody with Steam experience please provide some insight.

SAS, If you can log into your profile here with a proper e-mail and password and if you purchase TC from this site, you will be able to access the TC content.

Thank you Thad again for the reply. I have triple checked. All three log ins, the main IL2 store site, here on the forums and Steam site all have the same email and password so there cannot be an error that I can see.

Yes, if someone who has purchased Tank Crew and uses a Steam account and has not linked their accounts and can still access Tank Crew, I would be VERY grateful.

I would suppose that if you play 'through' steam everything will need to be linked.

I just tried again. I went to Steam, pressed the play button, tried to link accounts and get the same wrong email or password. I sent a ticket to support but have not gotten an answer.

I have even tried by starting the game through the folder's exe and started the game, tried to link accounts but the result is the same.

I have mods activated. Should I deactivate them then try linking accounts?

Posted

Yes, I'd at least temporarily deactivate any mods.

From what I understand, most of the development team is on a vacation right now. They may be back this coming Monday.

Can you load into the game and play at all? If not, you obviously need a proper e-mail and password.

I can load either from the game exe and through Steam's site and the play button but neither will let me link accounts. I'm signed in at all three places. I'll try the mods off and see.

I just tried with mods off and still the same error.

Could someone who has Steam and has not linked their accounts and bought Tank Crew please post if they can access it through Steam?

Hi,

well, before there was the option to link both accounts, I had bought BOS via Steam, but all the rest was acquired from their web site. I always

run the game from Steam and had always access to all the bits I bought from the official web shop. Never had any issue.

What actually changed with the linking of the two accounts is that I don't need to confirm my account info anymore. When starting the game

I'm automatically signed in. As you have the same email and password for both, Steam and Web Shop, there is absolutely no reason, why

you shouldn't have any access to items you bought.

Btw. the error you got was an issue when they released the update 3.005, but was fixed with 3.005b or 3.005c. I assume that you run your game

on the latest version which is 3.005c?

Perhaps you should do the following:

- Check if you can run the game offline and see which version is displayed

- Be sure to disable mods

- Purge both login info before log in again. Enter you login info again, but without linking your accounts (the left square)

Hope I could help you with those lines.

Cheers

Ok here is what I have...

1 I can play offline and its 3.005c.

2 Mods are off.

3  I went through the Steam site and clicked play, I clicked the left square saying I just bought the game, it thought for a bit but then nothing. It just went to play the game. I clicked the " player 3513 " to try to link the account and entered my email and password but still got the same error. Email or password is incorrect.

What do you mean with "Player 3513"?

When you start the game and you still have not been able to link the accounts, you should have to options:

- Left, to use without linking the accounts

- Right, to link both accounts, which was an issue before 3.005c but should work for now. I did link my accounts and have no issues.

Again, although I bought everything from the official web shop, except for BOS (which is Steam), when I started the game via Steam

I always had access to the content I purchased "outside" of Steam. So you shouldn't worry too much about that. Just make sure you

have the same login info on both accounts (Steam BOS and IL2 web store).

Cheerio

In the upper right corner under the tags of what I have bought such as BOS, BOM  and Bok is Player 3513.  That would be where your name such as SAS~Bombsaway would be. If I click there it will give me the option to link accounts but when I do I still keep getting the #4 error, wrong email or password.

I  have the same problem too!

I wrote to the support for help, and they asked for my steam id and screenshot of my main  game menu.

I did as they asked a week ago.

But for so many days, no answer to me, and my steam account still can't link to il2 web account.

Thanks for the reply. At least I know I'm not alone. I want to buy Tank Crew but not going to spend the money unless I know I can access it through Steam. I want to link my account but have to wait until Support gets back to me. If you find out how to fix the issue please let me know and I'll do the same.

Missing product license key prevents me from establishing a link to my existing account with the manufacturer, so I can fly under my user name.

PLEASE SEND ME THE PRODUCT LICENSE KEY so I can complete my registration.

With anticipated thanks,

Hello,

I can confirm that IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad does not come with an activation key within Steam upon purchase. I just tried to reproduce your issue, but I was successful in linking my Steam account with my existing IL-2 account without the need for an activation key.

If you're continuing to experience issues with linking your accounts, please contact or continue to work with the game's support team here:

Finally! After weeks, Support did get back to me but could only tell me that my account was good to use. I started thinking that maybe the linking system may not like characters in the password or something. I had been using a capitol letter, an _ and a number. Thinking that the system may not like it I removed all of them and went with just a straight word set and now my accounts are linked.

Funny thing. My password has all kind of things, capital and small letters, numbers, special characters... and I've had no such issues.

Don't ask me Mike. I have no idea why it was not linking but after I removed those, it linked. You know my luck from all the years we have known each other. It's just me. LOL :)

Sounds like something good beefed up again that has worked before already, because my linking took place right on the day it became available, and at that time it definitely worked.

Or even not.

Might also be something that just happens to some of us.

Who knows lol :joy:

Well seems like my luck hasn't changed. I just spent the $69 for Tank crew, have the purchase number and the key says it's activated but it wont show in my game. I've sent a request for help from support.

This has been extremely frustrating.

So it does look like this in your account (red box)?

In that case there's still/again something fishy with your account, time to get in touch with the support once more.

Same problem here, can't link accounts.

I changed the password, I set one with only lowercase letters, and still the same error:

#4 email or password incorrect

Any hint on how to fix it ?

I found the problem, even if you already created an Account, inside the game you must select the option "Create Account".

This is what worked for me:

1) Open the browser, log-in in my account, and let it in the background

2) In the Game select "Create IL-2 account, and link it to Steam"

3) The browser came in, with a Steam login windows. Enter your Steam credentials.

4) Once I ewas succesfully logged-in on Steam, it redirected to IL-2 web, and since I was already ligged-in too, it told the accounts were linked, so DONE !!!

This worked in version 3.009, Beware this can change in future versions

well, i've tried pretty much everything in this thread and for love nor money i can't get my steam purchases to show here on my IL-2 Account.

Oddly my Il-2 purchase works perfectly in steam 0_o

at this point I suppose i can play the game so whatever. just wish the linking was a little better.

Melon,

I had the same problem and just managed to fix it today. Here's how, in case it helps you.

1. Make sure you're logged in here at IL2*.com and also at steampowered.com (i.e. the website, not Steam's app)

2. Run the game from Steam and select that you've just bought the game on the launch screen

3. Click the Player name in the top right of the main menu - this should be under the IL2 game products you own, in red blocks, but above all the main menu text.

4. You should land at an IL2 page that forwards quickly to the steampowered.com profile page, asking you to log in to Steam (even though you're logged in)

5. Once you log in to Steam here, for me at least it finally linked my IL2 products to my Steam account

Seems like some very dodgy SSO code between IL2's devs and Steam. I hope this helps.

I'm experiencing some issues with the account linking feature as well.  Early last week I launched the game through Steam for the first time in a long while and went through the Steam link process.  It seemed to have worked as intended...well, mostly...

Everything works fine in-game if I launch through Steam, but the BOBP DLC and the collector P-38 (that I decided to purchase through Steam) are not listed in my IL2sturmovik.com account License Keys tab along with my other content.  I can't manually input any steam keys to add to the License Keys tab like with previous content because I can't seem to find where the product key information can be viewed on Steam--if that's still a thing.  It seems like some changes have been made over the last year or so regarding product keys.  It would be nice to have a key as a back up to manually link the content in this kind of circumstance.

Again, the content works in the game only if launched through Steam, but it's just not listing the content in my account profile on the website side of things.  If I launch the game with the IL2 Great Battles proprietary launcher only my content from before the new Steam link process is available...that is, the content that I manually entered Steam product keys for in my profile here in previous years.  Anything purchased on steam since then does not appear in my profile.

All of the content that I currently have access to with my account was purchased through Steam over the years.  My previously purchased content was easily added to my account profile by adding the product keys that could be viewed in Steam, but I'm considering purchasing some directly from the store here... I just want it all to work together as intended no matter where I launch it from and I want all of the content to be listed properly in my account profile.

EDIT:  I see that none of my content is listed in my forum profile under my name as well....

EDIT 2:  I purchased BOM, BOK, and FC vol. 1 along with some other things directly from the store here and now I've got those three title badges listed under my forum profile.  They are accessible in-game and are properly linked between the IL2 site / forum profiles and steam.  The content that I purchased through Steam is accessible in-game but there is a disconnect with the IL2 site and forum profiles properly listing the content.  My forum profile should also list the badges for BOS and BOBP.
